Honestly game is very well made, and from just intro/song and all the little drawn animation it really shows that people really cared about making this game and it is a shame to see it only has 50 reviews. Game is not your triple A extreme theme park like the obvious comparison to Hitman, it is a smaller "In/out" mission were you got an X item to steal and you need to make a plan with trial and error to do it. So far on a simpler side altho still you do need to use a brain a bit, but it seem you will get a large crew down the line, so we will have to see how complicated of a planning phase this will become. Honestly I was very inffie on buying it originally because of episode structure, but at this point I will probably be getting other episodes as soon as they come out. While not right now, but game will probably benefit of doing some sort of free trial/demo or even giving the episode 1 for free once 3-4 episodes are out.

So far, this game is very No Goblin, in that it's unique, it's humor is generally hit-or-miss, and is full of quirk, charm, and jank. The art direction and animations are lovely, even if the 3D ones are a little stiff and glitchy (especially during cutscenes). The music and voice acting is incredible. And the gimmick is unique and appealing, as you plan the heist with photos, observing for all sorts of options and opportunities. I'm still early in the game, but I do feel pretty comfortable with saying this is a solid buy (especially on sale, like it is currently), so long as you're aware of these issues. First, it's episodic. For what I've been told, the later episodes won't be free updates. But they will be included in the No Goblin Complete Collection bundle. If you buy it now, you'll get a nice discount for each episode as they come out. Second, you only get one save file, and I don't think you can reset your progress. While you can replay missions, you cannot replay the story and its cutscenes. Hopefully, they update with the option to have multiple save slots, and the option to restart the story. PROS: - Art style. Stylized over realism always adds more character. - Voice acting. - Puzzle game dressed as a colorful heist game. Essentially you're the person doing reconnaissance before the actual heist and plans it out. - MORE THAN ONE WAY TO SOLVE A PUZZLE. Always a welcome thing. - It doesn't take itself too seriously. Putting on a chef hat is already considered being "disguised." - There's Corgis. A bunch. CONS: - Volume Mixing. Please fix it. Sometimes even when the audio settings should be correct. It doesn't really reflect what we hear. It'll just sometimes jump from normal to a megaphone in your ear then to barely hearing anything after cutscenes or "running" your heist. - Animations. Some of them just clip onto each other. When I ran some heists, NPCs would clip into each other. - Sometimes weird puzzle solutions. There was a puzzle where it shouldn't have worked but worked anyway.

An almost aggressively charming game starting from the animated opening titles and continuing through the design, dialog, and the parody music track "Tiger's Den". The aesthetic works even you've lived through the 80's (like me) and you're tired of 80's nostalgia (like me) as it feels like its being properly utilized instead of a cheap ploy for memes. The heist planning is easy to pick-up but allows for some complicated organization, and the failures are often amusing and since there are no penalties you can indulge in trial-and-error or experiment. The only letdown is the current amount of jank; characters phase through walls and doors, objects disappear, sometimes things don't trigger. If you're hostile to bugs you might want to wait, otherwise the errors merely elicit a mild chuckle. Hopefully the developers will have the time and resources to iron these out and expand the game.

So far, I adore this game. In truth, it feels like a puzzlely kid-friendly version of Hitman, where you plan the heist safely, before sending your goons to go deal with the issue. I ADORE the setting, it's all fun and feels like something you'd see in a Saturday morning cartoon. The 80's local is done well, and from what I've seen, I've adored the character designs and challenges. Unfortunately, the game only has one episode right now, so you'll be hunting the in the same environment again and again until we get episode two. I do hope we get to see more soon. I feel an episodic release didn't really help, and that the missions will just feel repetitive without newer content. My biggest complaint is the heist resolution page. While it's fun to see how your plans play out, it DOES get tiresome watching yourself fail again and again. Maybe add a fast forward option? Still, for the price, it's a good game and worth getting.
