[h1] Slightly towards no. Move around hex board, choose path and make contextual decisions. Buy equipment in taverns, arm wrestle, hire vagabonds, take on quests. Battles are turn based, very simplified, move, attack or use items. If I can choose I prefer Heroes of M&M. Game have some unique decision making and a bit of charm when exploring the board. Music is great. Gameplay too simplified. [/h1]

Fun little tactics game with decent enemy logic to (generally) target your weaker characters. Not much replay value after completing, though it is easy enough to go back and complete all achievements ... at least those in Normal mode. I played Normal mode, where your characters (main character and mercenaries) retainer their experience level with each play-through. This was challenging up until the characters get to around level 7-8 (with a max cap of 10), at which point you can pretty much breeze through the game using potions. You still have to take care that your main character doesn't get ganged up on and die, but using some careful movement and potion-usage, you should be fine. Hard mode, where the experience level of each character is not retained, was too challenging for my interest. I supposed it could be done, but I'm someone who just wants to enjoy finishing the game and moving to the next, so I shifted to Normal after about five attempts. Enemies are decently varied, with melee, armored, life-stealing, ranged and some degree of counter-attacking and sneak attacks. Same goes for bosses. Game is pretty intuitive. I had fun with this game. I enjoyed mostly figuring out abilities and strategies myself. I would recommend playing on "easy" for a first playthrough as "normal" is quite tough, especially when it comes to learning the mechanics. Also, don't be afraid to use a guide.

All in all it's a pretty good game. Turn Based Tacticts, some luck, a not too long and not too short adventure, Easy game mode is hard enought to enjoy and stille requires some hours to get some good runs: quite challenging at the beginning, becomes a little easier run after run, because you keep your main hero level. It requires some grinding to rise your main hero to a point where you can really hope to beat the game. On easy, your merceneraies need to be hired each run, but once you get them they keep their level, while on normal they start over from 1. Replayability is fine until you complete the game, than it's probably an uninstall and never get back to it. Normal difficulty is some kind of punishing experience and adds little to nothing to the game, but it can be the way to go for hardcore tactic lovers. I suggest a try, in particular if you can get on discount, but it's worth 10$ if you don't want to wait.

(game not completed and dropped at 1.2 hours of gameplay, part of my review all my games effort) (short version) A charming rogue-like tactical turn based combat game that takes skill and some luck to play. Although I've only played it for an hour I tried to pick it up about two weeks later, and lost most of my party, when I discovered this game is on average 8 hours long I decided to drop it. With no check point system I'm not interested in doing multiple 8 hour attempts to win. $10 this game is priced perfectly for what you get.
