Curiosity: A Cat Climbing Game

I love the gameplay. The music is incredible. Some of the levels were very hard to navigate, with the Amphitheater being the worst. It wears a rage game coat of paint, but its a platformer at heart. I like how the checkpoint system is handled. You place a cat bed down when you're on stable ground and can nap to return to it. After 9 lives, you are instead sent to the vet. If you clear the vet level, you get unlimited naps until you clear the section. On the more frustrating and hard to navigate levels, you'll really appreciate the unlimited lives. Its like starting with a powerup or Yoshi on a hard Mario level. If you're not that great at the game or have limited time, they're perfect for easing the difficulty. They let you experiment or make mistakes until you surmount your obstacle. I used 2 vet trips to clear the game; on the Pirate section and the Amphitheater. Using these unlimited lives lock you out of the good ending, and I can't remember if it warns you about it before you reach the end. You spend the whole game finding your memories and being told how much your owner loves you regardless of your vet trips. You are encouraged to not give up; to do anything to make it home.…

This game is one of the few rage games that you can approach as a regularly skilled gamer, like me. The check point system is really clever and allows you to set a limited amount of check points, better still , you are rewarded for using less checkpoints, so it’s good for the proper rage game specialists . . It also has a really good length to it, there are a bunch of fun areas, the music level is my favourite . . The only flaw I would say is that the save system was a little odd in that there was no auto save, so it literally only saves if you run into the save symbols floppy disc . Keep up the awesome work, will go for another playthrough soon

A cute, accessible rage game with lots of fun collectibles and challenges. This was the first rage game I've ever played, and while I did find it janky and sometimes frustrating, it was generous with the ability to add checkpoints and respawn so I never felt like it was unfair. As a result, it encouraged going back and exploring, making it feel rewarding to take my time with the game and embark on most of the optional content. Highly recommend to anyone curious about the genre, or even for vets (no pun intended) seeking speedrunning content.

There's a bit more to it but that's the gist. I'm not a platform expert and so far I'm actually doing well. I won't spoil anything but even if you don't do well there's solutions. If you like a challenge this game is by far a good deal at $10.00 I got mine on sale so even better. (Long version) I don't usually review games early anymore but I wanted to with this one. I wanted to play only up however, when I heard the controversy I chose against it on principle. Full transparency I do watch GrandPooBear's stream (he doesn't know that I do though and I'll donate to him when he plays deadly towers or wins iron bros). This is an enjoyable game, no if, ands or buts. Is it perfect? No, is this a game that has love and passion poured into it? 100% yes. This game is a love letter to platformers, rage games, and pet ownership. Featuring three difficultly settings that even a casual platformer enjoyer has the chance to experience this magical journey. Easter eggs abound and some very funny dialogue.
