Gameplay Overview
Dairy of the Dead is a short, point-and-click, narrative-driven casual adventure where the player must help out several denizens of the post-zombie apocalyptic world to feed your grumpy, undead cat!
Throughout the game, you as the player will:
- Feel like you are traveling with a moody, zombie kitty who constantly wants your attention (but it also really hates your guts for some reason!)
- Be entertained by the interactions with the humans and zombies you encounter.
- Have fun playing simple puzzles that needs little to no directions
Key Features
- Solve Puzzles: Help Milwaukee crack the code to the zombie outbreak, rescue Missus. Whiskus from the Divine Office Overlord Helen, help Grocery Attendant Tiffany the Zombie find her missing eye, and crack the Krypt Currency Bank vault to get Missus. Whiskus her MILK!
- Talk to zombies: These zombies are friendly… just a little slower and stiffer. Talk to them and learn more about the world and what society is like 7 days after the zombie apocalypse.
Story
Your zombie-cat, Missus Whiskus needs milk and the online delivery site is down! Play as Alex and brave the streets during the zombie-apocalypse. Meet zany characters both living and dead, solve their puzzles, and find Missus Whiskus her milk! You wouldn’t want to get on her bad side would you?
World/Setting
Sometime in the very near future, a virus broke out that turned half of the world’s inhabitants - animals and humans alike - into zombies. No one knows the cause or how it started… And at this point, nobody cares. After the initial panic, the living realized the undead weren’t the hostile, brain-eating hoard often portrayed in the media. The zombies retained their identity; they just often lost their train of thought, didn’t need certain bodily functions, and - as one newscaster put it - “they move at a very leisurely pace”. It was less of an apocalypse and more like the invasion of grandparents.
Thus, humanity continues to march forward… Albeit more slowly and stiffly.

WOULD DIE FOR WISKUSSSSSSSS (Part of this review is copied from my review of the other currently available Endless Adventures produced Adventure Forge demo, The Icarus Experiment - because, well, similar types of product just with wildly [and successfully!] different vibes. Posting this one to hopefully prevent others from leaving reviews of it as if it was intended to be a demo of a full release product) I found this demo - and to be sure, this is a demonstration product in the truest sense of the word - INCREDIBLY ENJOYABLE. You will not laugh out loud, but the commitment to the "amusing zombie apocolypse" bit was as well done as could be within short constraints, and cute. I appreciate the efforts that went into a demo like this, even if they were not looking to knock anyone's socks off from a world building, complex mechanics standpoint. If you are installing this thinking you are going to be getting more than a few minutes of servicable demonstration of the capabilities of the Adventure Forge toolkit/platform, you are going to be disappointed. I am aware that this is a demonstration for the toolkit/platform Adventure Forge, and I have played their other title (The Icarus Experiment- it's great!) with the same purposes and was expecting the same type of adventure, but got something different. Some parts of this I really did enjoy, the new take on a "zombie apocalypse" was refreshing and fun! The puzzles were fun-ish and unique but didn't match the basic point-and-click and lackluster gameplay. I was not able to turn down the blasting music despite changing it in settings.. so have fun with that. I loved the concept of a silly adventure to get milk for your spunky kitty, Missus Whiskus, during a "life threatening apocalypse".. but I was hoping for a more silly, cozy and engaging adventure rather than the oddly, politically charged conversations and boring gameplay. Despite that, the writing was witty and it was enjoyable to read most of the dialogue. Honestly, I am not recommending it because I don't think it brought much joy in the hour or so I played it. BUT I think with time and effort and some gameplay changes this could eventually be a very fun take on a full zombie survival game with twists! Go play their other g…1 found this helpful
A terrible game, just plain terrible. You walk around clicking on people and reading dialogue that makes absolutely no sense with no inspiration to actually read what is said. Puzzles are dull as dull can be. Music in the background is super annoying and there's no settings or options in the game whatsoever. I eventually got to a vault and got stuck in a nearby wall. Had to force close only to be thrown back to the beginning of the game where there's no way I'm going to go through it all over again.
