About Dark Moon Motel
Dark Moon Motel is a horror comedy game set in a run-down motel in the middle of nowhere. It's your first night, and your monster of a boss is already breathing down your neck to complete a list of tasks. The odd assortment of guests at the motel are making your nightly duties difficult, almost working you into an early grave. Gather lore, solve puzzles, avoid the wrath of your guests, and perhaps even gain entrance to the motel's basement, where you just might find the answers you are looking for. We hope you enjoy working here. Try not to check out too early.
- A Terrifying Tale of Tribulation - A new slant on classic survival horror. What's worse than working a dead-end job? Working a job where you might not live long enough to see the end of your shift! Explore the derelict hotel, manage what few survival resources you have to navigate the dark rooms, find the clues you will need to solve puzzles, and avoid monsters in this first-person adventure.
- Perplexing Puzzles - Perplexing Puzzles - Every puzzle you will encounter in the Dark Moon Motel is different. Perhaps the motel's permanent guests will help you by way of alliterative rhyming? They can be quite punny. Or you may need to explore your surroundings thoroughly to find enough clues to find your way through.
- Optional Outcomes - There are a few ways your night shift can end. Will you check out early? Or will you find your way to the hidden portal... and a promotion?
- Menacing Monsters - A unique series of monsters awaits you throughout the night. Some you will find familiar, perhaps even comforting, but others will be far less common. Don't forget to keep an eye out for your boss. He can be quite... demanding.

an absolute delight !! so glad i found this little gem - and you will be, too. this game is genuinely funny. if you like short indie horror games with puzzles and spooks, i recommend it as a welcome reprieve from dry horror stories that simply don't mean anything. this game is still spooky, still has some solid (and well-placed) jump scares, still "gets ya", but it does it without devolving into muddy depression or piles of bodies the way indie horror games too often do. this is a game with a playful sense of humor, very self-aware of its own limitations, and thrives because of them, not in spite of them. suitable for a wide age range, i'd say. it's not every day you get animated VHSes like this, or puppet cop drama on the television. worth noting, but minor spoilers: in my playthrough, the TV didn't play the puppet cop drama correctly initially. i had to save and turn the TV off and on again to trigger it. this puppet cop drama is in the chair delivery room. i don't want to spoil anything further, i just thought i'd mention it, because i'd be very upset if you missed this incredibly charming little sequence. Cat & Drog were top tier. thanks so much for this !! lots to deconst…4 found this helpful

It's scary without jump scares and gore, but still had fun solving puzzles, even though I was nervous the whole time. Not having a weapon makes it engaging. The Puzzles are hard, like you have to listen to all the npc's and search thoroughly, but I like that, to many small games like this one usually just hand answers to you. it could use a little more direction sometimes. The little characters and dialogue are surprisingly cute and made me laugh. It's a game younger kids could play and be scared, but not be traumatized with gore and violence. 8/102 found this helpful
I'm not big on horror/scary games. This game surprised me, though. There is a bit of humor blended in with the suspense and spooky atmosphere. There are lots of cute jokes mixed throughout. As an Indie title, It is pretty well-made. Some of the puzzles and tasks tripped me up but I wasn't looking at the environment well enough. For the price, this is a great game to keep you "on the job."1 found this helpful
So far it is well made and it looks great! Have not gotten that far yet but looking forward to it. I would highly recommended it to anyone who wants to support a small group as well as just enjoy have a fun time with some scares, it is October after all!1 found this helpful
It's time to get serious Drog! This one is a cheap, fun little game full of campy humor and mild horror. It is a nice slice of indie comedy/horror that came just in time for Halloween. Oh, and it is a 5 dollar game with amateur voice acting. Puzzle solving is rewarding and not too difficult, monsters are a-typical in the sense that they aren't your usual zombie or body-horror gross mess. (Okay, so there was a single vampire.) Had a good amount of fun so far, but I haven't gotten to the finish line. Looking forward to more, and I love the overall charm of this one.1 found this helpful
