✦ AI summary

Dark Sphere is a very short experience (around 1-2 hours) with attractive artwork and animations that fails to build on its promising flanking-based combat mechanic, instead offering shallow, repetitive gameplay with simplistic level design and minimal story substance. Players consistently criticize the linear progression, generic RPG Maker assets, uninspired puzzle and combat design that never evolves, and the overall sense of underdeveloped content that feels rushed or incomplete. While the visual presentation earns praise, most recommend only purchasing during significant sales, as the thin

Dark Sphere by circle dorgel is a short, linear, and ultimately forgettable experience. The only standout feature is the art, which is gorgeous. However, the gameplay is shallow and repetitive, with little variety or depth. It's an attempt at a light action game and labyrinth in RPG Maker where you play a nimble dark elf that needs to flank enemies to deal damage. Sounds unique, but it gets old fast. Action is shallow, levels are simple, and the gameplay loop never evolves, the game progress itself is very linear, you clear one maze and unlock the next without any meaningful variation. The dark elf town remains static and empty, reflecting the overall underdeveloped world. As for the story, it exists, but only barely, it’s just there to justify the art. The translation is sloppy, riddled with noticeable poor word translation, grammatical errors and awkward phrasing. The whole thing feels like a rushed excuse to have some H-scenes. Those scenes are well-drawn and animated, but even then, they’re limited in number and variety. It took me 1.4 hrs to clear. Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the MC’s aesthetic, there’s really no reason to play this. Personally I wouldn't spend more th…

5/10 Short and repetitive, but I suppose you can get it if you don't mind overpaying for a 1 hour experience. You get what is shown. The artwork is pretty good though the animation is very basic. Still not too bad. Wouldn't pay full price for it though. It's a bit disappointing they didn't do more with the rock puzzles or the conveyors. A lot of the game is just running back and forth until you get a key or hit a switch. It's just time consuming and not hard or interesting at all. A lot of the areas look so similar, I honestly got lost once or twice. Everything about it is generic rpg maker. You definitely can recognize most of the sprites used as well. The combat is extremely simple and they didn't try to innovate for the boss at all. Pretty unsatisfying. At minimum they could've had certain troops that can't be hit from the sides either. Or ones where you have to hit them from the front. Maybe even some that spin around and shoot? Point is that for 10 USD, it's kind of a steep price.

An Incredibly short RPG that I managed to beat in ~2 hours even with faffing about and seeing what happens if you die a couple times. This is the barest of bones, even with the 18+ patch. Probably only get it if you want to support the devs, and/or you get it on sale.

Eh, it's like a 5/10. Maybe add a few more points depending on how many of the fetishes you're into. I know it says thumbs up, but this is more of a neutral or maybe even slightly negative review. It's got really hot art that's even got some basic animation, which is unheard of in some cheap rpgmaker eroge, but if you're not into the sort of things in this game, the gameplay ain't gonna make up for that, it's very simplistic and not especially compelling or satisfying. Literally just real time bumper cars combat but with the caveat that you need to do it from the sides or behind. It's not an rpg in the slightest. Most of the mechanics that are present in this game are so underutilized to the point of never actually being used. Like items, or spells. The game's so short and easy you're never gonna use either of those. The fact that it's not just another cheap jrpg or point and click/adventure game like 99% of these things are is a novelty rather than something actually worth your time. This is the kind of eroge where you play it once and then maybe return to the gallery every now and then for a quick wank, nothing more. If you want a quality eroge, most of the stuff published by…
