About De Profundis
Après une mystérieuse explosion au sein du centre commercial Grasseille, Daniel se réveille au milieu des débris, dans le noir complet. Il rencontre d’autres survivants et, ensemble, ils cherchent une voie de sortie.
Mais les sous-sols dans lesquels ils sont tombés sont étrangement vastes, et tous les dangers semblent possibles.
Surtout ceux qu'on ne peut pas voir._________________________________
De Profundis est construit comme un visual novel, mais se passe intégralement dans le noir. Le son y est essentiel. En particulier, les paroles des personnages sont mises en musique, chacun avec son instrument propre.En fonction des choix du joueur, son lien avec chaque personnage grandit. Lorsque ce lien est au maximum, Daniel, artiste peintre, imagine un tableau le représentant.Plusieurs fins sont possibles. La vraie fin du jeu arrive lorsque suffisamment de tableaux sont débloqués.Il faut compter environ 8 heures pour terminer le jeu avec sa vraie fin.

"De Profundis" is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This garbage Ren'Py e-book isn't your usual high school anime club dropout fan-fiction about the authors imaginary girlfriend. Instead it's a high school French club dropout fan-fiction about a murder mystery. French being such an elegant language, it's quite perverse to see it being used to write cringey fan-fictions, but Ren'Py has allowed all kinds of horrible things to happen to Steam Direct. This most certainly is a horror story, and the horror is the thought someone out there genuinely believed people would pay him $5 USD for a garbage Ren'Py fan-fiction.
