About Deep Under

DEEP UNDER is a grim visual novel about how an ordinary camping trip with friends can turn into a real nightmare.

Alex is persuaded by his childhood friends to go on a small camping trip to have fun after a long separation. The character feels superfluous in the company of students, and his confusion grows when the buddies turn off the usual route and go deeper into the forest. Alex's fears are not in vain, because in the remote wilderness the carefree travelers await not wild animals or the danger of getting lost, but something much worse ...
You will have to go through a nightmare in the darkness of the caves, descending deeper and deeper to save your friends and unravel the tangle of mysterious events of the past of the main character.
Dare to find out what evil lurks deep underground....

- A small but fascinating story that keeps you in suspense.
- The decisions you make affect the ending.
- Complex character relationships.
- The oppressive atmosphere of a scary fairy tale.
- No puzzles or riddles - just enjoy the story.

A pretty good short visual novel. The story was interesting and kept me engaged all the way through. The game in itself also felt very polished too, the art being lovely and the UI and sound design quite neat.2 found this helpful

This visual novel is perfect for a spooky themed game night: where VN sometimes take 40+ hours to complete, this is bite sized (2-4 hours), greatly atmospheric and suspenseful, with a decent amount of choices to make, and just the right amount of endings and replayability, including a speed up function for further replays. I would have loved to know a bit more about some of the characters that come and go quickly, and the lore could have been explored more. I definitely felt there should have been more choices here and there, but those that are offered truly MATTER. I ended up playing 2-3 times to get the perfect ending, and was very satisfied in the end! The exceptional audio design gives life - or death, that is - to the beautifully drawn backgrounds and animations. The story itself, though starting as your usual teenagers lost in the woods for lack of better judgment, quickly spirals into complete insanity as you have to dig deeper and deeper underground to emerge victorious in the end. *** My Steam Curator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43938467-TheGamingMom/
I don't like reading, which is why I can't really review the game properly. However, I can say that the story is actually good, even though I skipped most of it. I also liked the pictures and the decision-making. I'm sure people who like reading fantasy books will love this game.

Deep Under is a horror visual novel that thrives on atmosphere, psychological tension, and the slow unraveling of relationships under pressure. Developed and published by WildOmul, it begins with a deceptively simple setup: a reunion trip among childhood friends. What should have been an easy, nostalgic getaway quickly spirals into something far more disturbing. After a sudden detour into the wilderness, the group ends up deep beneath the earth’s surface, trapped in a maze of caverns where darkness, claustrophobia, and unspoken fears begin to take hold. The premise might sound familiar for a horror narrative, but the game’s strength lies in how it uses that setting to explore the fragility of trust and the hidden fault lines in long-standing friendships. The story unfolds entirely through visual novel presentation, focusing on choices, dialogue, and mood. You are placed in Alex’s perspective as tensions rise and unsettling events occur, forcing you to navigate interpersonal conflict while confronting dangers that may be supernatural, psychological, or both. Because there are no action sequences or direct navigation mechanics, the weight of the experience rests on the writing. Each…
