What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise this card game's engaging mechanics, progression system, and achievable achievements, noting that the developer is responsive and supportive. However, many criticize the user interface as outdated and clunky, with control configuration issues and poor tutorial presentation being common complaints; while some acknowledge the developer has plans to revamp the UI, these improvements haven't fully materialized as of the reviews' dates.
As of 2022, this is a really good card game with well thought out mechanics and progression. There are enough story lines and combat styles to keep you interest throughout the game. Many of the prior negative reviews centered on the user interface (UI): the developer actually revamped and upgraded the entire UI, so the game is much more streamlined and easy to follow. There is a tutorial and there is also a menu available which tells you what the game mechanics are (press ctrl to pull it up). Really good game, double bonus in that the achievements are achievable, and triple bonus that you're supporting an indie developer.8 found this helpful
I had some fun with this one. It seems pretty outdated though. Keeping up with the Dev it looks like he is making a remake of this game or something. If that is the case, I look forward to it, as it is really quite fun. Just needs some QoL!1 found this helpful
The game is very fun. but it need some improvement in very few things like If you are playing with mouse or keyboard, the default control is annoying and you cant access option menu to change music volume at the all tournament.1 found this helpful
3.5 out of 5 This is a great expansion to the card battles in World of Shadows, I am having a lot of fun with it! But the UI could use some work. Seems the developer used the existing systems found in RPG Maker instead of creating one from scratch which seems a little wonky. I did see some posts about how he plans on redoing the entire interface, but it hasn't happened as I am aware of. If that was done, this game would be 4.5 out of 5.1 found this helpful
I've got all the achievements for this one, so of course I recommend it, something other reviewers are not telling is that the dev of this game is a very reachable person, and always seems to be willing to helkp anyone. If you're an epic card game, collection enjoyer like me this game is dangerously addictive.1 found this helpful
If you'd rather watch and listen to a slightly more in-depth review as well as see the gameplay for yourself, check out my videos on De'Vine here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0ngX01WiZOXO3ZG-6oItEVF2nOTdnIvT To summarize my thoughts on the game, I have mixed feelings. Its not really a card game, just a RPG with card aesthetics, and that's fine. It just made me wish the game leaned more towards card game than RPG. I wish it was a bit more player-friendly with its tutorial and introduction of mechanics, and I also felt the story was pretty much non-existent. However, I did enjoy the game itself, the mechanics and card abilities, the loop of finding new cards, and the graphics. If you're a fan of these types of RPGs but with cards-kinda games (Slay the Spire, etc.) then I'd recommend it. If not, maybe wait till it goes on sale to pick it up if you're still curious.1 found this helpful
