I've tried to put some time into this game a couple times and try it out but I just can't get past the first hour. The whole system feels clunky and awkward. The UI is awful, navigating the menus is awful, the almost threatening sleep & sustenance system is not fun to engage with. It takes forever to run around and the map provided is not very helpful. The TCG minigame is very confusing, the overall RPG Maker fights feel weird and there's not enough information or feedback given to understand what's going on. I could honestly go on and on. There's just *something* that's making the playing of this game feel very uncomfortable and unnatural. There's clearly a ton of work put into this game but everything just doesn't feel right and it doesn't seem to fit together. There's some good ideas here(e.g. running around a seemingly open world for you to explore, gathering materials to craft items and food, finding companions out in the world and raising rep with them by having them in your party, etc.) but there's also some really awkward and bad ideas put into this game.

I've been having a lot of fun playing World of Shadows. There is so much to do in it, it's crazy. One thing however is that the in-game achievements are working fine, but they do not seem to be syncing with the steam achievements.

A friend recommended this game because I love the JRPG genre. I got to say at first I was a little put off because of the resolution 800 x 600 I think? But after playing in full screen, I forgot about that. It is a very deep from what I've seen so far. A ton of different mechanics that are unusual, but refreshing. I also like the main character so far, Kuan. Going to edit this with more information when I get more play time in! But I am really interested in the card battles, so I might just buy the developers other game!

This is an interesting beast of a game. The beginning can get overwhelming, as there are a lot of systems in place and a huge world to explore, but it sucessfully evokes the feeling of a hidden gem experimental open world jrpg. Thumbs up.

Has a lot of niche mechanics and things to do. Die hard JRPG fan? This game is for you. Just beware, it has a pretty steep learning curve.
