About DEAD LETTER DEPT.

AFTER MOVING TO THE BIG CITY

you got yourself an apartment, and secured a temp data entry job- just to keep you afloat till something better comes along. YOUR OFFICIAL TITLE IS A DATA CONVERSION OPERATOR, but you're really more like a warm body who types up all the junk computers still can't read.

D A Y - T O - D A Y

you go to work & process the images displayed on your terminal, and type up whatever random text is in front of you. Whatever can be made out, that is. Sometimes the mail you receive is a little strange- letters and lost mail, some mangled and twisted, that have travelled from place to place with nowhere else to go. Sometimes, it feels like it's talking to you directly through the screen...
  • USE YOUR KEYBOARD to type in various prompts, and attempt to decipher damaged images
  • MULTIPLE ENDINGS & buried secrets to uncover
  • NO TWO PLAYTHROUGHS are exactly the same (Estimated playtime: 120min per run)
  • A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF MAIL to voyeur through, and catch glimpses into other lives
  • ATMOSPHERIC HORROR MOOD with rich sound designed to crawl under your skin

Mouse & Keyboard are REQUIRED

Key re-binding is available, but a keyboard with Function Keys and Control Keys (Insert, Page Up/Page Down) is strongly recommended.

I can see why this is loved. I really can! But if you have sight issues, like issues with flickering, focusing etc or joint issues in your fingers, then I would say perhaps don't get this game. I managed one playthrough but i had to give it to my boyfriend in the end because it set off my joint issue in my fingers and I ended up in pain. I wish there was a warning for this, but here I am as someone telling you just in case you have this issue. I wont be doing another playthrough, I can't. I would have to have someone else typing for me. The only reason I got the ending I did (withdrawn i think??) was because I couldn't type anymore so failed some timed events, and during this period you can't pause or exit the game, so I just let it ran. So it doesn't even feel like I earned an ending to the game. SO yeah, just a heads up.

Saying this as a compliments. This game reads like one of those creepypastas you find on Nosleep about a guy working some job after moving away from home. Only to find out the horrible truth or lose his mind, or both. First playthrough I got the Possession ending. And this was certainly one of the best horror game experiences I've had. Mainly because it does the horror aspect very well, it hints and doubles down on certain aspects and atmosphere. Awesome game that felt way less linear than your average game of this genre, will defo give it another playthrough.

Very cool game! I enjoyed the atmosphere quite a bit. Admittedly, I actually enjoy data entry, so some of the game's themes didn't hit me as well as how it might for someone that actually does find the gameplay tedious. That said, I was spooked and thought the message was very cool. Worth your time and money!

I think I played this game the wrong way? I'm into mindbreak now

A short, pleasingly atmospheric and lightly existential experience. I have only achieved two endings thus far but have enjoyed the game on replay no less and it remains quite tense in a very effective way. Also, I have a great fondness for data entry, so even when not being spooked I enjoyed the gameplay.

I really enjoyed this game. The atmosphere and tension had me on the edge of my seat.
