Players overwhelmingly criticize this product as misleading marketing masquerading as game content, with most reviewing it as a short interactive audio narrative with concept art rather than actual gameplay or meaningful DLC. The common complaints center on its brevity, lack of proper controls or subtitles, the pointlessness of adding story to a tower defense game, and the perception that it's a money grab that doesn't justify its price compared to actual audiobooks of similar length. A few defenders acknowledge it's acceptable as supplementary bonus material if expectations are properly set,
DO NOT BUY! IT IS A SCAM! @Steam pls bann this!
This seems to me like a SCAM. It is an Adobe Flash video as narration where you get to choose at two or 3 points what will happen next. You can even skip forward like in a video.... this is neither a real game nor a dlc...12 found this helpful
A Flash audio recording with a concept art slide show narrating the story gap between DG: The Awakening and DG2. This material is fine as long as you have your expectations set that it's basically additional audio that resembles the voice acting in DG1 and 2 that occurs before, during, and after the levels of the story mode. The negative comments were all about how they thought they were buying a game DLC, which—barring the description being misleading at the time of purchase—is user error. It's clear that this is like any extra edition of a game where they offer additional features like artwork, audio, and other digital files to supplement the game, not additional game content. It's a 30-minute Flash audio with concept art recapping the events that led to DG2. The Positives: -With proper expectations, you will like it as long as you like the audio and voice acting of the two games. -The story recounts the events leading up to DG2, effectively reviewing how the new alien threat was identified, specifically scrutinizing how characters you interact with in the full game responded to the initial attack. -The audio and voice acting is the same quality as the game; the conc…4 found this helpful
I have exactly one question: why does it exist? It is an audio book that runs in flash with no proper controls and no subtitles. Even worse: this is a story of a tower defense game - a genre that doesn’t really need any story in the first place. And just to nail the coffin - it is done in the same exact annoying manner as the story is done in game - but there you could mute it and actually have fun playing the game, here though? Oh, and it is also standalone even though it has DLC in its name. It should be in some “gold edition” of the game as a bonus material, not as its own thing.4 found this helpful
Absolute crap and a money grab. It's not really a DLC, it's a money grab, choose you 1 of 3 option story narrative....no game play. save your money....AVOID!!!!!!!1 found this helpful
Loved the Game, this though is not a game, its a narrative in the same style as the original game narrative. What makes it worse is that it is very short. I’ve bought audio books over 10 hours long for the same price... I was amped for a new playable chapter in this Tower Defence saga though, Very disappointed.
Thought this was a tower defense game, not a flash narrative movie?
