Delila's Gift

Delila's Gift is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, Delila's Gift is a software application that shows you an art book in VR. That's it. Look at some really mediocre art... imagine being so bad at art, that when all the local art galleries finally take out a restraining order, you have to pay $100 to publish your "art" on Steam through Steam Direct, even though you know it's not actually a game, but you're that desperate to try make someone see it. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player surviv…

Особенно хочется отметить сюжетную составляющую. История Делилы, ее взаимоотношения с семьей и друзьями, кажутся очень личными и искренними. Диалоги хорошо написаны, а персонажи проработаны, что вызывает эмпатию и желание помочь главной героине разобраться в себе и своем прошлом. Финал игры оставляет после себя приятное послевкусие, заставляя задуматься о ценности воспоминаний и значимости близких людей. Хотя игра не лишена мелких технических недочетов, они не портят общего впечатления. 'Delila's Gift' – это небольшая, но душевная игра, которая может подарить несколько часов приятного времяпрепровождения и оставить след в сердце. Delila's Gift is utterly delightful! It is beauty wrapped in a lovely story of learning empathy. I highly recommend it for kids and adults. It can also just be an amazing retreat to relax and play with the ornaments. I hope the author makes more and more!

Wow. This game was mega sweet. It's a cool experience. It tripped me out. I do wish the particles were closer to the player because playing with those was GREAT! In all honesty, I didn't really follow the story, and it didn't really hold my interest. It did sound sweet from what it was, however.
