Now that all rational methods of finding him have been exhausted, you are the curator’s last hope before word of this disaster reaches the media. I think I've thumbed-down the entire series at this point so the only reason this one gets a blue thumb is because it stands alone (there is no connection to the previous four games) and arguably has more quality applied to it than previous outings. That's not to say that it's a good game, mind you - it's just kinda okay. Most importantly, it leans heavier into straightforward adventure game and the H.O. scenes are sparse. Most of the game is inventory puzzling like classic PNC adventures so if you're into that, great. If you're here for the scenes... there aren't many and what's there is pretty easy. At least they got rid of morphing objects! It took long enough. There's little in the way of saving graces, but as always, the scene art is pretty good and the environments are well-realized so you're never guessing at what you're looking at. Some of the elements are reused from previous games, but it's nothing to get upset about. Other than that, the story is ridiculous, the human characters hit a weird uncomfortable space where they're not quite uncanny-valley, but they're not quite easy on the eyes, either. yes I would recommend Demon Hunter 5. It was fun, yet again some of the mini games don't explain what they want you to do
Fun puzzle game, the extras add to the game's appeal. The puzzles are not too hard, but I did have to skip a few. And I was not able to get the achievement for not using hints.
This was a good game
This is a pretty good considering it's Brave Giant. The artwork is good, the puzzles are the best in the series, and the voice actors try their hardest with the mangled English of the script. Has collectibles with an indicator to let you know if there are any on the screen. Generally supports backtracking which is nice. The story is disconnected from the rest of the series but feels more like a Demon Hunter game than part 4 did. Main game is 3.5 hours, bonus chapter is 30 mins. Get it on sale.
