Depths of Insanity

I really liked how open world this game is. I struggled for a long time in the start, and went to places I probably shouldnt have right away! Its very complex and for sure takes time to get into all of the features. To me all of the above is definetly positive. Its not a straight forward linear story. Plenty to Explore and figure out. Also a lot of great music. Its so cool you actually have to find the floppy discs in the game. Giving me all Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie collector wibes. Well done Sloppy Joe Studios, and its nice to see how dedicated you are to keep adding features and fixing bugs.

I have only played the full version for almost 1 hour and I already love it! (I played the demo for 2hours). It's mysterious, full of secrets to find, cool unique adventure in first person! Have managed to gather stone, wood, iron & glass to build my house. And wow! The house feels like it will play a huge part of the story as well. Pros: - Graphics are cool. - Music quest gets interesting and seems to have lots of unlockables to play and make your own soundtrack from indie artists. - Story is unique and needs to be experienced to know what I mean (in a VERY good way). - Quest and sidequests starts of directly with lots of freedom. - Semi-openworld where some places are harder to get through in the beginning, those needs to be taken later I guess :P - I like the huuuge retro-feeling this game has! - Lots of cool areas and characters to interact with. - New free expansion released already with a new underground area with new content. Cons: - If you're not taking notes, it becomes hard to navigate but I guess a mini-map or the likes can be crafted later if I didn't misread. - Music soundtrack should've been indie artists only, when the indie music starts, it lifts the game HIGH! -…

The love and passion that Sloppy Joe Studios have put into Depths of Insanity is truly inspiring. Their game, Depths of Insanity, is an action adventure 3D first person shooter role playing game where you play as Slaug an alien from another world that crash-lands on another planet and must get home after completing an incredibly impressive amount of quests. You (as Slaug) will come across loads of different characters to interact with, play with and against as well as help on your way through the vast world. There are so many elements to this game, and honestly, I couldn't name them all if I tried but the call back to retro gaming, excellent hand drawn artwork and graphics, story behind the game, puzzle elements, collecting music tapes and ability to listen to great indie bands as you play, different seasons, loads of weaponry collectable items and tools, a colossal map to walk around interact with, mini games within the game, huge bosses, to name a very short list of what is involved. One of the things I like the most of this game is the atmosphere and the art style. It's a little creepy in a goofy way and I tend to like that. Is not always easy easy to find a game that stand out for uniqueness, and not just in the visuals. The 2D and 3D blend pretty well here. I'm not very good at reviews, so that's that. But Keep in mind that you need to explore and it's quite fun and in the process of that you'll see thatthe game full of humor, even if obviuos. And there's some good stuff to find if you spend yout time looking around and traveling this quirky world.

Depths of Insanity is hilarious and terrifying! The game spans the genre's of Adventure, FPS, Puzzle, Crafting, and Platforming. What makes this game unique is the awesome soundtrack that includes many great indie musicians. Find and collect cassettes and craft a walkman to play all of them on the go! The dark ambient music in some of the darker areas of the game really bring the horror vibe into play with a comic style art that keeps it fun. I highly recommend this game!
