Desert of Doitjma is an intriguing and visually stunning video game that takes players on an immersive journey through the mystical desert landscapes. Developed by a talented team, this game offers a unique blend of exploration, puzzle-solving, and captivating storytelling. One of the most remarkable aspects of Desert of Doitjma is its breathtaking graphics. The attention to detail in the desert environments, with shifting sand dunes, ancient ruins, and mesmerizing sunsets, creates a truly immersive experience. The game's art style is both vibrant and atmospheric, effectively conveying the sense of awe and wonder that accompanies each step of the adventure. The gameplay mechanics in Desert of Doitjma are equally impressive. As the main character, players embark on a quest to uncover the secrets of an ancient civilization hidden within the desert. The game cleverly combines platforming, exploration, and puzzle-solving elements to keep players engaged and challenged throughout. From navigating treacherous terrains to deciphering cryptic riddles, each obstacle encountered feels like a meaningful contribution to the overarching narrative. The narrative itself is a standout feature o…1 found this helpful
+ good gameplay + nice 8-bits aesthetics + works on my Steam Deck - requires modification of key bindings - a few misalignments (which could as well be voluntary)
Desert of Doitjma is an indie action-platformer developed by Conmtrast and published by LGV that combines retro-inspired gameplay with a mysterious science-fiction premise. The game embraces the simplicity of classic platformers while presenting its own surreal setting in which the player must navigate a dangerous alternate dimension. Rather than relying on complex systems or elaborate mechanics, the experience focuses on careful movement, enemy avoidance, and steadily increasing challenges that test the player’s reflexes and timing. Its straightforward design and pixel-style visuals evoke the feeling of older arcade titles, where progress depended on mastering level layouts and surviving increasingly difficult obstacles. The story centers on a young protagonist named Murphy, who suddenly finds himself transported into an unfamiliar world ruled by a powerful and enigmatic entity known as Doitjma. Stranded in this strange environment, Murphy is forced to participate in a series of survival trials created by this mysterious figure. The only way to escape the alternate dimension is to complete these challenges and gather a set of keys scattered across the world. Each key represents p…
It's a real torture that horizontal moving platforms doesn't reach the end and start moving in the other direction in half a block until end. Nevertheless it worth the sale cost and playing it once and forget about it. Spend less than hour to end the game.
Fun little game worth the $0.49 on sale, especially if you're familiar with how games controlled back in the 80s. You can remap the keys to a controller like any other game (which I found to be a requirement). The game is 5 (?) stages and then a longer final dungeon + final boss. It took me 16 minutes to finish. It's also very forgiving when it comes to lives.. I think I finished at -8. Give it a try! For controller mapping, I found that the following worked pretty well on an Xbox 360 controller: D-pad - arrow keys A - space X - x Right trigger - c
Lol, it had an interesting Packrat nostalgia feeling too it. But the music is nauseating
