Desktop Heroes

It does a reasonable job at being a desktop decoration and treads the line pretty well between being an active and idle game. I wish the items had more of an impact on the visuals (like changing the outfits, slash color etc.). I think switching to using an indexed color palette rather than using the basic sprites would allow for much greater customisation like changing the outfit, hair and eye color without needing entirely new animation sprites. It'd be nice to see more vibrancy in the interactions, having the characters celebrate after a level or have little speech bubbles after using a potion would be kinda cool. It'd also be nice to have a 'camp mode' where the characters hang out would go a long way to add some character to the game. There also needs to be a couple changes to how the background is set so that it can be more configurable and less obtrusive. Levels like the dungeon have a giant wall at the back that is unhideable and doesn't do anything for the parallax effect. Some of the UI would be better placed at the bottom bar and hidden until hovered so we can have a proper minimum-height gameplay mode. Desktop Heroes approaches the idle RPG formula from an unusually practical angle, turning the lower portion of a computer screen into a miniature fantasy adventure that can continue while the player concentrates on other activities. fun little side piece

Conceptually it is a cool idea. In reality it's a very barebones idler that has very little upwards scaling (or fun in my opinion). My biggest gripe is how little you get in terms of progression, and how the auto-skill on the first skill always comes undone in some way or form. Takes some ~200 hours to 100% if you're an achievement hunter.

Easy to play and the grind is addicting.

This game honestly surprised me with how many fun elements are in the game! if you love RPGs, team building, and farming monsters this is the game for you! it is an idle RPG which is my favorite part. i can let the game run while im doing/playing other things! quite a fun one if you are looking for a 2nd monitor game!~ update: To clarify, you can only utilize three heroes simultaneously, which means that using all four at once is not permitted. At this stage, I have successfully leveled every character to 400 and completed the primary set of story quests. I am currently focusing on the bosses introduced in the latest update. This game remains enjoyable for what it offers; however, I have observed a significant increase in resource usage as one progresses to the later stages. This increase is understandable given the multitude of monsters present on the screen, but it may pose challenges for players using lower-end PCs as the game advances. I have noticed that this game can consume over 3000 MB of RAM and may also experience memory leaks, leading to consistent RAM usage exceeding 10000 MB while the game is running.
