Desktop Nard: Dice Idle

Game gets super buggy once you hit max level. Unless you turn the effects almost off the frame rate drops into the toilet, scrolls just straight up stop working, inventory management becomes impossible as it fills up as fast as you can empty it, and, after several hours, all your damage drops to zero and you have to quit and restart the game. Absolutely not recommended in it's current state and it seems the developer has already moved on to other projects so we'll likely never see another patch.

Game runs pretty terribly. Discussions show that players run into problems late in the game and there have been no updates since release to fix any of them. Unfortunately I also ran into problems where I can't even keep the game open for more than 3 minutes before it completely freezes and needs a forced shutdown, and all of this is obviously too late for a refund.

I can't recommend this idle game. It takes way too long to get progress done. A simple game that should be finished around 10-15 hours is already taking more time than that and not even close to 100% this game. The actual core and concept is not bad. A fun idle game where you see numbers go up and damage monsters. Nothing extreme or intense but it is everything else that is really annoying as the RNG is horrendous. Might get lucky at the start but then it slows down to a crawl. General Idle games shouldn't take forever to play and enjoy.

Honestly, the game isn't bad. It's a fun enough experience that you can easily 100% in less than 35 hours. Art and animations are good, if a little bright (I ran a full Beam Dice build and it was near blinding) and it doesn't have too many frame drops. The only negatives really are some lacking QoL features like: * Closing windows/menus when clicking off of them or hitting escape - Clicking off does nothing and hitting escape brings up the game menu on top of what you wanted to close. * Occasional graphical glitches where the dice were too large. * Tooltips could be a little better with clearer descriptions. But I'd still recommend the game as 30-35 hours for a few bucks is definitely worth it.

While it could benefit from some more content and QoL additions, the basic gameplay loop is fun. I would really like to see a true loot filter which is adjustable for each loot tab. Overall I've found this game addicting, enjoyable, and rewarding. Edit: Unfortunately I have run into a game breaking bug and cannot recommend the game until it's fixed. I tried the mobile version and seem to have run into the same bug. It is quite disappointing, but I guess I was pretty much at endgame anyway (level 1500+). After further testing, the bug seems to cause a crash at some point when an inventory is full and another item is earned. I feel that a more granular loot filter is needed to 1) make endgame progression rewarding and 2) avoid having situations where I need to mass delete drops to avoid a crash. At this point, I'd be interested in keeping just ancient+ rings, high tier stats on gems, and golden dice of a certain level and with faces 3. Unfortunately I can only select the loot rarity to delete and hope that I don't miss something important before I have to mass delete to avoid a crash.

I've played all of the other Samharia Studios games that came before this one and did not like them very much, but I really enjoyed this one. One of the best idlers I've played.
