Just no. Stealth is the only way early on. Take away the weapon because it is worthless. I did two mission and the gun was useless on both. If you are seen, restart. The restart from checkpoint and the restart mission are easily mistaken or misclicked so instead of restarting at a checkpoint you start all over. Early weapons are useless. Enemies are waaaay too strong. Cut scenes are so bad. What minimal voice acting there is, is terrible. Graphics are decent. Story didn't really pan out for me. Seemed dumb. I gave it about an hour before I lost interest and moved on. I think an hour is enough to grab a player if the game is solid. This one has pretty decent reviews but I'm just not into the slow game play or the forced stealth. I was hoping for something different. I usually love this type of top down shooter but this is not that.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this title in any way. Everything in it looks like it was taken straight out of the game jam project and left that way, except the pumped up graphics which looks presentable on the steam page. The story in story mode is close to non-existent, level design in inconsistent, none of the gameplay modes, either stealth or gun combat, really works, the enemy AI is straight up garbage. The cases do not even have simple checkpoints, which gets even more frustrating towards the end, when you encounter the unskippable cutscene sequences, which you have to go through over and over again with every repeat of the mission. I gave this game the benefit of the doubt. When it came out it looked undercooked, but I waited half a year to see where the things go from there. Unfortunately the devs have gone silent and there was no update since April. Probably the project was abandoned and left in the state it was released - flawed, frustrating and disappointing in the end. At the moment it is not worth your money and, more importantly, your time.

Very dissapointing. Game is clearly unfinished. The concept is interesting, visuals are really good, the soundtrack is also very good and fits the atmosphere. Here the good part ends, basically everything else is bad or lacking in some way. Between missions the city is open for no reason whatsoever. There are only two stores, one that sells guns and ammo and the other that is supposed to sell tools but really sells grenades only. There is literally nothing else going on there. If you alert a single enemy during the mission, every hostile npc on your floor will immediately charge at you, therefore you can end up in a shootout with more than twenty opponents in one room. The scan-thing was useful in only one part of the game, unless I missed something. You have an item wheel that clearly shows four selectable slots for tools and items which are not in the game at all. The game is so short that it should be considered a demo at this point. Overall: the game could be decent at least but at its current state it's simply bad and not worth playing.

DeTechtive 2112 is a stylish cyberpunk action-adventure game developed by M11 Studio and published by 5D Creations that attempts to merge the grit of noir storytelling with the fast-paced energy of a top-down shooter. Set in the dystopian world of 2112, it casts players as Matthew Wallace, a war-scarred private investigator trying to survive in a city drowning in neon lights, corporate corruption, and technological decay. The premise promises a blend of crime drama and futuristic action—a detective tale wrapped in cybernetic aesthetics and moral ambiguity. The player is thrust into a city where trust is a luxury, information is currency, and violence lurks behind every holographic billboard. It’s a world designed to immerse you immediately, painting a vision of a future where humanity is as fractured as the machines it built. From the very beginning, the atmosphere of DeTechtive 2112 is one of its strongest elements. The visuals are drenched in cyberpunk style, bathed in neon glow and perpetual rain that reflects off metallic surfaces and glass towers. Every environment, from dimly lit alleys to smoke-filled bars, evokes a strong sense of decay and danger. The soundtrack enhances …

The combination of stealth, shooting, and co-op gameplay gives the game variety. Even though it’s more action-focused than detective-focused, the setting and story keep things interesting.

I really liked the neon noir setting. The environments and lighting create a strong cyberpunk atmosphere throughout the game.
