About Gamedec - Definitive Edition

Gamedec is a single-player non-combat cyberpunk isometric RPG. You are a game detective, who solves crimes inside virtual worlds. Use your wits to gather info from your witnesses and suspects, get to the bottom of deceptive schemes, save lives, and investigate the extraordinary relationships between virtual worlds and their inhabitants. The game continually adapts to your choices and never judges – You are the sum of your choices.

Welcome to Warsaw City of the 22nd century. The Tech of the future is so advanced that the term "real" is relative and "life" and "death" have many meanings. Virtual worlds give rise to problems of the human nature: lust, sloth, envy, and pride. The residents of these virtual game-worlds need specialists – Gamedecs - Private Investigators with experience in those worlds who work to discover the secrets and explores mechanics hidden in those realities for the commission of your clients. You are one of them. You are a Gamedec.

Gamedec emulates the nature of tabletop RPGs by focusing on character development through decision making. Gather aspects and craft your unique set of professions that will allow you to lead investigations in a way that fits your style. Discover extraordinary relationships between the virtual worlds and their inhabitants thanks to the gathered information in the codex.
Like in classic tabletop RPGs, you’re given the freedom to approach situations from multiple angles rather than forcing a single solution – the choice is yours and yours alone.

Gamedec General Features:
- Interact with NPCs to gather intel and access different dialogue options depending on your choices, developed profession and acquired knowledge.
- Visit numerous virtual worlds - from the deceitful farm-like environment, through dark-noir cyberpunk realities to fantasy-based realms.
- Use your Codex and Deduction to unscramble facts and evidence to conclude the case. Find your own answer and respond accordingly to your own ethics, integrity or just a sense of poetic justice.
- Shape your Character through actions that grant positive or negative effects – Determine how to you want to be perceived by the other by selecting traits, which correspond to your gameplay style. Develop your own Gamedec through your decisions, choices, and actions.
- Meet various characters in both Realium and Virtualium that can be friendly, or hostile – depending on your decisions throughout the game.

Cool concept, but there are just too many instance where you can softlock quests for innocuous reasons like talking to an NPC more than twice or doing 1 thing before doing another. I don't necessarily need handholding, but I find I want to take a specific path and then run around stuck for 20 minutes with no one talking to me or responding to me is making me lose my enjoyment of the game. A lot of the fixes from devs chatting in the forums end up being "lose some progress and go back several saves to unstick yourself or give up on the thing you want to do" and I could understand that response if the game gave you feedback like "sorry you locked yourself out of this option, you're going to have to try something else", but I don't KNOW that I'm stuck for 5-10 minutes and spend another 5-10 minutes hunting around on forums.4 found this helpful
Bizarre fever dream of a detective game. I’m not sure if I even finished the game or who the characters are or what happened. I just started shooting everyone because they kept talking too much. So 10/10 for making “Shoot them” a recurring option?1 found this helpful
A detective without fights sounded creepy, but it went wrong. Leveling up through knowledge of languages and psychology, and not through guns. I really felt smart after exposing one clown. The dialogues are lively, the choices are felt1 found this helpful
Good game, could be bit longer - but definitely ending is satisfactory. I like the fact you really make assumptions with facts, so like real detective work. Pretty solid game - 8/10.
good
Gamedec is a detective-focused narrative CRPG set in an interesting cyberpunk world, where people play in these matrix-style games called Virtualiums and experience much of their daily lives in them. It's in these Virtualiums that crime occurs, and your job as a Gamedec is to investigate and uncover it. But there's more to the world than first appears, something I won't spoil, but it changes things drastically. The gameplay is mostly carried by its skill tree, with four different types of points you accumulate depending on your playstyle. This leads into my biggest criticism: the way skills interact with dialogue feels a bit inverted. Early on, the game is very focused, you simply don’t have many skills yet, so you don’t get a lot of extra dialogue options. Later, as you unlock more of the skill tree, the game becomes much wider in approach. By the end, you almost feel like a “detective god” rather than a character with a defined identity. That said, this is somewhat balanced by a pretty good deduction system, which isn’t about clearly good or bad choices, but more about different shades of grey. Your decisions actually change how things unfold, and it often feels like a prop…
