I thought the premise of this was quite interesting and the price point looked good too, so I purchased it. It had cute well-drawn characters, nice music and a decent case to solve. The overall how I can describe the game is that its cute and has light comedy. This do deserve like extra chapters if they come in future. I liked how the club is so creative with coming up with ideas to how to make it popular, you the main male protagonist is trying to find a school club and you join the detective club, which only had 1 member, your basically reviving the club which was very popular and long standing along with the club president who seemed well amateur but has the knowledge. I loved the cute chicken also, I did like the case and how creative it was with the plot twist in the end. Gameplay did have mini games and danganronpa like debates, interrogations, examining testimonies. You have a notepad to check also. Some smart riddles were thrown in to the pool as well I had problems with the second one. The characters are really great imo, not too much traumatic pasts but just school issues being solved. *Note* I purchased this with my own money, I wish I was fortunate enough to receive free games! TLDR? - I would recommend this game to people who enjoy anime visual novels, especially to those who enjoy enjoy reading dialogue with the occasional mini-game. I think its solid value for a short & sweet session. I just hope more content is added. After a five hour stream, I have now completed Detective School Club. Rather than doing a pros / cons list I thought I would instead share my positives, and opportunities for refining the game further in my opinion. Positives: Story - Short and simple lighthearted fun for anime visual novel lovers. Can be completed in one sitting. Setting - Solid character design + world building. I could easily recognise characters, and enjoyed learning more about the school. I also enjoyed the references to Pokemon & Sherlock Holmes, they didn't feel too forced or out of place. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend the game. I've played up until somewhere in the beginning of first case, and those are my impressions that I had so far: Positive: - The main girl you interact with seems cute/adorable, I liked her - The music is fitting - The premise of the first case is genuinly interesting - The comedy is solid Negative: - The english translation is, sorry to say, quite poor. Nearly every prompt of dialogue has an error, ranging from the wrong time, the wrong grammar or the wrong use of he/she to the use of completely different words, where you have to guess what was actually meant. Normally that wouldn't be such a big issue. However, the problem is that this is a detective-themed visual novel. Since the player reads a lot, and details are essential for slonving crimes and myteries, the game requires a good or ideally perfect translation to properly convey all the necessary information. - The beginning of the game is very slow. It took me more than 20 minutes to even get to the start of the first case - The main downside for me, and the reason I stopped playing the game, was the questioning/interrogation system. Not enough Jane Stoner

A bit cliched but isn't all anime/manga to a degree. Its not the most sophisticated visual novel/detective game you may come across but it is pretty innovative in its mechanics even if the animations aren't the most complex and the tutorials a tad bothersome. There is a feel good factor about this game and though one may question the setting originality, the game itself is fairly unique. My old will gripe is that it is fairly short, playable within a couple of hours so the characters don't get much room for development ect. but I hope there will be a sequel.
