Devolverland Expo

100% Devolverland Expo on 6/5/2021. This is a free game which is essentially a playable Ad for Devolver Digital published game. The story revolves entering an abandoned convention center after the Devolver Digital annual game expo is canceled for some reason. As you explore the expo, you travel through many game themed booths advertising the various games published by Devolver Digital. Admittedly, it does quite a good job because a handful of the games advertised within this game I have played and enjoyed. There is enough substance to the game to make it actually feel like an enjoyable little first person shooter, especially since it is free.

Fun idea. Runs like ass and is essentially just an ad.

Need More Games like this. Maybe do a New Expo every year showing off upcoming games.

A walking simulator that is pretty cool.

Nice atmosphere, though the plot doesn't evolve as much as I would have expected from how the game presents itself, with this "post-apocalyptic" Expo. It's just a fantastic way, for a publisher, to advertise their games through a tiny adventure, a bit unpolished but playable, with sufficient amount of gameplay and interaction to keep you engaged while you explore the environments, which are actually the strongest point of the game: each stand is convincing in advertising the game it's themed on.

Now this is how you advertise upcoming games. A meta game that shows what's coming and has some interaction. This is also how I think story/narrative only games should approach, instead of walking simulators.
