Like old timey board games, you roll a die and then move certain places, pick up a card that gives various effects to you like "exhaustion". Hey, I was already exhausted when I saw how bad this is. Anyway I think this is a student project or something... and because it relies on PvP/other players to work, it's unplayable and dead. So, "Dicey Decisions" is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? Dicey Decisions is a cute little strategy board game that I found more thoughtful than its simple presentation suggests. The whole idea is built around competing against another player using cards, dice, runes and reputation, and I liked how the different resources interact with each other. It has the feeling of a simplified tabletop game while still giving me enough choices to think about each turn. The dice are at the center of everything. I can roll them for movement and also use them to activate card effects, so I have to decide how I want to spend my limited results. I enjoyed this because a lucky roll can help me, but I still have to make a strategic decision about what to do with it rather than simply waiting for the next turn. The cards give the matches more depth. Different abilities can help me gain reputation or improve my position, while character specific skills provide another layer of decision making. I liked having to think about how the cards and dice fit together because the strongest play is not always the most obvious one. The exhaustion system is another nice touch.
