About DIGGERGUN

Low wage. Exhaustion. Expensive fish and chips. Welcome to the United Kingdom.

DIGGERGUN is an oppressive life sim platformer about workers, minimum pay and the environment. You’re trapped on a blustery island, forced to work at Cornwall Mining Corp where it’s shadier than the game’s monochrome palette.

To escape, you need to earn £3000 from digging precious lithium. To survive, you need to manage your time, energy and money during the rigid day-and-night cycle.

Will you make ends meet while digging for freedom or find another way out and bring down the whole bloomin’ system?

Features:

 • An atmospheric world with fleshed-out characters; everyone you meet has their own distinct personality and storyline.
 • Multiple endings: who you interact with (or don’t) will change the outcome of your story.
 • Unique energy system where your actions truly matter as the game tracks your gameplay and punishes/rewards you for your choices.
 • Life sim where wages, food, rent, and much more are based on the current cost-of-living in the United Kingdom. There's even a tax system calculated to real-world rates!
 • Diverse range of randomly generated mines and intricately hand-designed levels to ensure you’re always kept on your toes.

Black and white, but cool platformer be like: It's a minimalist platformer where we dig our way deeper and deeper. Along the way, there will be dialogues with NPCs, gradually revealing the story. It's a chill game, but there were some challenging moments. If you like this genre, you'll like this game, give it a try.
If you read the review and liked it, don't forget to give it a thumbsup;)
The further - The better♥️

DIGGERGUN traps players in a gritty 2D platformer life-sim on Bal Island, mining lithium with a versatile diggergun by day while sabotaging corporate overlords by night. Randomized levels demand sharp platforming, enemy combat, and resource juggling amid rising quotas, debt risks, and brutal procedural challenges. Positive early reviews praise its addictive grind, evocative pixel art, and anti-exploitation satire, making it a compelling indie standout.

I liked how it doesn’t rush you and lets the pressure build naturally. Weirdly fun, slightly depressing, and very memorable.

*Changed my Recommendation to Yes due to the Developer quickly fixing the stuck issue listed below. They are working hard to improve the game and that is great to see. It still has a ways to go for most folks to enjoy it but they seem very receptive to player feedback. Cannot recommend the game in it's current state. After playing 7.5 hours I accidentally activated the bed immediately after eating food and my character will now never wake up again. It is stuck in the alarm clock sequence likely with an eating food timer still active that will never count down. The game could have had much more potential if it were not randomly generated as it also makes many maps that can immediately kill the player on spawn and some even have been literally impossible to complete due to a spike spawning in front of the door with no way to break out / go around it. The gun upgrades would have been better placed behind fun boss battles every 25 or so floors instead of having a repetitive randomly generated grind to slowly farm for more Lithium. Some deaths are overly punishing as well such as touching 1 spike causing you to lose all of your Lithium with no way to recover it.

This game really sucks. If you don't like cheap deaths and value your sanity then avoid it.
