About Dis Pontibus 2

Dis Pontibus 2 is a single-player puzzle game set in a procedurally-generated archipelago.

In this sequel to the first adventure, you are tasked with helping the archipelago's inhabitants by repairing their bridges, pushing and/or rotating their platforms.

But platforms are more fragile in this world! You can move them only a limited number of times.

Each game will be a different experience, with simple mechanics but very challenging gameplay.

I am glad that Dis Pontibus 2 didn't fall into the boring indie sequel category. I didn't invent that category so don't shoot the messenger :) Most of puzzlers (I played) who do the sequel thing fall into the same trap and that is to take the original formula and copy almost everything that worked while adding almost nothing new. Dis Pontibus 2 takes the formula from the first game and makes a simple tweak that creates a new headache. The goal is to build a bridge of course but this time you can move each block only 2 times before it breaks. Sounds easy.....it is not. The game starts easy, as it should. The main tweak is that you have this tiny box you can push and depending on where you put it you can spin the block you are standing on. Sounds complicated....it is. It is a concept that I found very confusing at first. Confusing to the point that I wanted to stop playing. They say that patience is a virtue and that you learn from the mistakes you made. I started playing this game on 27th of December 2024 and 100 % it today , 22.04.2025 . I took large breaks, sometimes up to 10 days. The first game broke my spirit but I was playing it non stop and never finished it. So, what am I…

A brilliant puzzle game with great replayability. Compared to the prequel this is a great update, keeping the puzzles within a scope that is reasonable yet still challenging. This absolutely deserves more love.

I usually play a bit longer before a review, but this wonderful puzzle game needs more reviews now and I can easily see myself playing this again and again. The puzzles are short, clever and fun. The little islanders add nice ambience and cheer you on. The victory-dance for every established bridge (=solved puzzle) is just cute and adds to the positive mood.

I feel the need to share my appreciation for this game as it's quickly become one of my favorites. It doesn't quite fit the "cozy gaming" category as most people define it, but it's an incredibly charming and relaxing experience while still being a great challenge. I even include the graphics in that statement - I know the dev doesn't pride themselves on them but I truly do find them very endearing. Oddly enough, this game feels the most similar to "Desert Golfing" to me, which receives near-unanimous praise (and deservedly so). Really hoping to see more of this dev's procedural generation in future games - will always be an automatic purchase for me.
