Disc Frenzy

(TLDR: I recommend this game. 7/10 with hopes it could grow with post-release care!) I hope the developer plans to keep adding to this game. From what I have played, it is clear they care about disc golf and wanted to make a good game to go along with it. They took inspiration from Walkabout Mini-golf and have hidden discs on each course for you to find which unlock skins you can use to make your own custom discs. Mentioning that, the option to create your own discs is awesome and a neat option to play with. Now, while I heartily recommend this game, it definitely has its rough edges. It is clear the development was shall we say, questified. Graphics-wise there isn't anything spectacular to see. Animations are few and far between. The soundscape is also pretty barren. There are times that you can throw a disc and wind up having it roll or coast ALL THE WAY across the map. This is especially a problem on the skiing map. If you throw downhill and get the coast flat enough, the default discs can coast indefinitely rather than eventually slowing and falling down like you'd expect. My VR Group are always looking for fun, casual games to play together. We were playing disc golf in rec room (bad) before we found the demo for this game. We put in hours on the levels available there, and I've been impressed by the feel and controls of playing different disc types and forehand/backhand throws. With the full release, we are a huge fan of being able to lock in an angle for your throw, and the additional levels are awesome to see. One fun suggestion is some sort of 'catch mode' or team play where you alternate throws? Thanks for making this game! We will continue to enjoy it.

Love playing this game on my Quest2. You can get really good at throwing the disc to make some cool shots!

Courses are very interesting and the throws feel fair and rewarding. Features like "big basket" are great for noobs like me.

Throwing frisbees as a floating alien head in VR. I could see this being fun for people who enjoy the sport but the physics were a bit tough to get used to. Throwing things in VR is always a tough mechanic to perfect and in a game based around throwing things you kind of want it to be exact. It was close but I didn't feel entirely in control of where my disc was going to go. I also would have liked to have a few more graphics to use for customization. I recommend this game if you wanna throw frisbees but don't got no stoner friends to throw them out in the yard with.

As someone who recently got into disc golf this games is amazing, the level designs are fun to play on and explore. The physics for the flight on the disc are pretty spot on as I've re-made my actual disc that I own in the game and they fly just about the same. I will say at first it takes a little time playing in VR to adjust, but once you get the hang of it it starts to feel natural, which for me is hitting the closest tree to the starting point. I highly recommend this game who enjoys disc golf and plan on sinking many more hours into it.
