Pretty papers-please-like game with nice start and a bit disappointing gameplay. While writing this "review" I have played for about an hour (a few days in game have passed) and I'm already a bit bored with the gameplay. I know it's just the start and there can't be any "interesting" cases yet, but I was anticipating more medical sim than fast clicking on right vial color Considering the most straightforward diagnosing process possible, I would say that calling this a medical sim with deducting diagnosis was too much of a bold choice. To make it clear: I wasn't waiting for real-life modern medicine and even found it better to have some fantasy in this part of the game (so that I can't use my real-life knowledge to make diagnosing easier). But the patiens are coming with clear instructions "I have headache, I don't want to take a lot of meds" and mostly everything you have to do is to cure a few clear known issues - there is no "Diagnose patients based on their symptoms", because we simply just cure the symptoms, nothing more The lovecraftian-horror part is on the other hand very cool, I like everything what I've seen so far. I got this on sale so I can't really complain. It's a fun game to run through maybe 2 times. After that it just gets super boring. I still don't fully understand the Humor Wheel functionality, but I was able to run through the whole game piecing it together, so it's definitely doable without it. My biggest problem with it is having to go through the entire thing again just to choose different options. It takes much to long even when I know which medicine to give. I do think it's well made and I like the art. I wish it was creepier and had more anomalies to notice. If you don't mind how repetitive it is, it's a decent game. Play it in 'casual'. Its the same game but it isn't timed. Its nice to spend some time with the patients and observe their symptoms. What's the timer for? Does corporate have a quotas I need to meet?
I struggle to really lock in too games like these and I high key only bought it cause the lil owl looked really cute but I was able to sit down and play for 4 hours straight. Absolutely phenomenal will be trying to get all the endings :3
