The game is a port from tablets, and is free on that platform, so definitely keep this in mind if you plan to play the game. The game starts out very easy, but becomes gradually more difficult as you progress through the puzzles. You will need to apply logical thinking to escape from all of the rooms. Currently, there are 4 chapters, each with a number of rooms. There are timed sections that reward you for fast timing and accuracy. The rewards are in the form of keys, and a number of them each time. Some doors you can open with silver keys, while others you will need gold keys. You can always go back to a room and replay to try to get more keys. There is an inventory where you can perform a number of actions: 1. Use the items to interact with an on-screen object/environment 2. Dismantle items to get new ones 3. Combine multiple items within to get a new one 4. Observe an item to see …

I don't know why I have such vivid memories of this game as a child. The impact this game had on me as a youthful iPad cretin was truly unparalleled. I can wholeheartedly say this game shaped me as an individual; I don't know who I would be today without it. A criminal? Perhaps. A dunce? Almost certainly. Fulfilled? Who's to say?

great game but has glitches

I've been playing this game on mobile since at least 2014. I was really sad when I couldn’t find it on my phone anymore, so I bought it on Steam. However, I’m quite disappointed with the PC version. The menu interface, level selector, and the visual effects when you finish a level are all different from the mobile version. There are also some misleading illustrations that can cause confusion or wrong assumptions. For example (spoiler alert), the half-keys you’re supposed to merge on mobile appear as whole keys on the PC version, which makes it hard to figure out what to do. Luckily, I had played the mobile version the same day, so I knew. But if you were a new player discovering the game for the first time, it wouldn’t be intuitive at all. Also, the merged key at the end just stays whole and yellow with no extra effect. I find it disappointing, but I still love the game. Since it’s only available here, I’d recommend it anyway. I really hope they will update or re-release Doors&Rooms 2. If I have to pay 5€ on the App Store to play it on my phone, I will gladly do so.

this game used to be one of my favorites growing up, until I got to the more difficult levels. Some of the levels aren't really accessible enough for even those who have experience with escape room games, or unless I'm just not great at them anymore. When I got to the end of the first chapter, I tried to move on to the hospital chapter, but it didn't let me progress. Game might just be buggy on my end but not sure. maybe if the bugs were fixed I would recommend it to others?
