About Dragon Spirits 2
Dragon Spirits 2 is a creature-collecting RPG set in a modern urban environment with a storyline about 300,000 words. Players can explore a city filled with urban legends, venture into various otherworldly spaces, and form contracts with different dragon spirits. You can nurture these spirits, customize their abilities, strategize team compositions, and build a formidable dragon spirit squad.
◆Story Overview: Cognitive pollution in Metapolis◆The protagonist is a game developer living in bustling Metapolis. Her ordinary life is disrupted when dragons from the game she developed appear in reality! Upon forming contracts with these dragon spirits, the protagonist realizes that the real world is being invaded by more dragons of unknown origin. The once vibrant city is no longer just a sleepless town of bright lights; people's minds are being increasingly contaminated, and the line between fiction and reality has blurred!
The protagonist, also known as a pactsealer, embarks on a journey with dragons to uncover the mystery behind these events, restore the city to its former state, and form bonds with more dragon spirits.
◆80+ Dragon Companions◆Assemble your dragon spirit team and command them in battle. But, before recruiting them as your new companions, you must fulfill their unique needs.
◆Create Your Unique Combat Style◆Each dragon spirit has its strengths and team roles, requiring careful consideration when training and in battle. Analyze each dragon's abilities, tailor a unique combat strategy, and adjust their stats through skill setups and equipping items.
◆Explore the Boundary Between Virtual and Reality◆Metapolis is a vibrant place, but the virtual world contamination has made it even more chaotic. Special zones known as Cocoon, scattered throughout the city, are responsible for breaking the boundary between virtual and reality.
In the game, players will explore various Cocoons, each a chaotic vortex of unstructured information and lurking dangers. Of course, there are also wild dragon spirits and other enemies waiting.
◆Uncover the Dark Secrets of Metapolis◆Apart from the Cocoons, there are plenty of regular areas in Metapolis. Navigate different parts of the city to uncover the mastermind behind this crisis. Along the way, you can also take a moment to enjoy the city's scenery and immerse yourself in Metapolis's everyday life.
◆Battles Between Pactsealers◆Meet other pactsealers and their dragon spirits in side missions along the city. Enjoy battles against them, decipher their strategies, and deepen your bond with your dragon spirits, growing together into an unbeatable team.

A VN-monster catcher hybrid that surprised me with how fun it actually was. The good: + Dozens of beautiful panoramic dungeons resembling an abstract collage + A big roster of dragons to choose from, each with their gimmick and moveset + A simple but solid plot with fun characters to keep you company + Addictive gameplay loop with sidequests, mini-dungeons and fulfilling the conditions to bond with and epand your roster + Barely any grinding There's only one serious issue I can point out, but its a big one — horrendous English translation. The dialoges are litered with grammatical errors in every sentence, characters talking about themselves in third person, directly translated Chinese idioms, nonexistent words and other similar issues that make it hard to follow the story and actually enjoy talking with the cast and reading the codex's flavor text. Really hoping the devs have a chance to re-localize the game, as it is a genuinely fun experience otherwise.2 found this helpful
A mix of VN, strategy, RPG, and dergonz to boot. Pros: The game is in of it self a very fun strategy semi-grindy RPG that has a semi-steady power jump inbetween the story (You most likely have to do sidequests like I did to gain levels or grind for currency/materials to power through) as enemies actually do become MAXED leveled during the end of the game. Each dragon has their own unique game plan, and you can grind for equipment/materials to manipulate stats so you have tons of variety. Personally I actually chose my over all what I think is the coolest looking dragons and have been using them throughout the game. This works fine, until it doesn't because there is a huge issue with this (which I will get into during the "cons"). Overall very fun and enjoyable game once you have your whole team set up. Cons: I cannot stress enough how bosses move TWICE as fast as you in some challenges. The balance for some of these bosses is insane unless you absolutely make the niche builds needed to beat them. Other then that, I'll just say that the most annoying aspect is the Party Dragons vs the NPC dragons that you face, they overall have better inate stats then if you had them on your tea…2 found this helpful
If you are a fan of creature-collecting games, then this might interest you. My overall experience has been both challenging and fun, moreover if you are able to contract the all of the dragons in the game. Nothing beats that and the experiencing their abilities first-hand. The translations might do some work, but the story is understandable as well as the game mechanics.1 found this helpful
The battle system and dragon designs make up for the wonky cocoon exploration
Pretty good battle system held back by...pretty much everything else. Mediocre VN aspect with lots of awkwardly translated text that makes the story really hard to absorb, cumbersome exploration that's just a lot of clicking around and hoping you end up where you want to be, annoying pixel hunts that aren't clear, poorly done progression where I had level 90 dragons long before I was supposed to without even trying, barely acceptable QoL and UI aspects. I haven't played Dragon Spirits 1, but I could see how some people could think it's better if it involves less interacting with the awkward VN and clicking around aspects. Despite all these cons I just said, I still recommend it for the battle system because it is one of the best I've seen in an RPG, and I'd like a Dragon Spirits 3 if it improves on everything else. Although the game did get pretty boring once my Agility got high enough for the 7 second Confusion move to last long enough to give me back all my SP. There's a few enemies in the game that counter Confusion but not very many.
Dragon Spirits was a diamond-in-the-rough of an RPG Maker game that I loved, despite flaws. Dragon Spirits 2 is an improvement in all ways over the first, learning from it and changing things up in a major way. It's no longer RPG Maker, but Unity-based, and it shows- This game is stylish, well-written, and mechanically brilliant. If Dragon Spirits was a hidden gem, Dragon Spirits 2 is a hidden dragon's hoard. This is a creature-collector where you pit some absolutely beautiful pictures of dragons against other dragons. The mechanics of this game are rather unique, but take only a little bit to get used to, and when you do, you'll realize there's a world of different dragon builds to make and execute. You get absolutely busted quickly- until the enemy has something that immediately dismantles your game plan. Compared to the first game, there are much less extreme "puzzle bosses" than the first, mostly thanks to the fact that there are 100 levels of XP to gain than 20 now. I didn't struggle nearly as much with absurd unlock conditions for boss dragons, which I appreciated. However, by the very end of the game, it quickly becomes so that stat numbers get inflated, and raw stat number…
