[h1]Before I played Ella - a study in realism, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good[/h1]

Ella - a study in realism Positives: + Nice music + Acceptable graphics + Ok made living room + Graphical adjustments + Ok for performance testing + Its free Negatives: - The navigation is slow and got very high mouse acceleration feel - Absolutely nothing to do - The HDR did not work properly (at least not for me) - Very little to see (its just a living room) - Over in a few minutes This is not a game, and not even an experience. Its a performance tester and a showcase for a game engine. Thats what it is, nothing more. But the music is quite cool, so at least we can enjoy that. Total Score: 4.5/10

Its interesting. I was hoping that it was going to be more of a benchmark tool that I might be able to run on Linux. It isn't but its an interesting... thing (not a game, not a benchmark, not a trailer, idk what you would call this honestly.) It might be worth for others to check out if they are looking for something different.

"Ella - a study in realism" is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this "art experience". Instead of being a game, "Ella - a study in realism" is a software application that presents a poorly made art exhibition, a journey into the uncanny valley where you meet the "developers" imaginary girlfriend showing off her armpit, so that's all a bit weird. The idea is to showcase Godot's 3D engine, which is okay but nobody uses it. It's a lot better than the 2D engine which is garbage and has never been used to make a successful video game, but bad developers love to use it to make shovelware because it's free and they can't afford Unity I guess. We get this non-game shovelware on Steam whenever your usual Starbucks barista/McDonalds frycook art school dropout finally gets a restraining order from the local art galleries so turns to Steam Direct to try get their art published somewhere so they can finally dream of moving out of their parents basement. It's true that games can be art... art is where the pinnacles of craftsmanship and quality meet vision and narrative to create an experience far greater than the sum of the parts…
