[i]Elven Rivers: The Forgotten Lands Collector's Edition[/i] is a time management game developed by Big City Lab and published by 8floor. You take on the role of Celene, an elf scout who longs for adventure, as the lands that she oversees are peaceful. As she's off on her rounds along with her friends, she suddenly discovers that the lands are being threatened by orcs, as they're causing destruction and making the local wildlife sick. Thus, it's up to Celene and her friends to defeat the orcs and restore the elven lands. That's the basic story premise, so I'll stop my synopsis here to avoid spoilers. As for the gameplay, there are a total of 50 main levels along with 12 additional levels that are unlocked after you complete the main story. You can choose from among three difficulty levels: relaxed, normal, or expert. (For purposes of this review, I chose to play on normal mode.) In each level, you're given a number of tasks, such as collecting items or defeating enemies, and depending on how quickly you complete all of the tasks, you can earn up to 3 stars per level. "Elven Rivers: The Forgotten Lands Collector's Edition" is a tablet clicker/ripoff of the "12 Labors Of Hercules" clickers. Click on various resources/obstacles on each map until the level is done. Much like the Hercules games this is aping, There's no real gameplay or meaningful decision making, even though, much like the Hercules games, it's pretending to be a resource management game, it's not. The graphics aren't as good as 12 Labors either, so there's a second fail The shady developer behind this valueless shovelware has proven to be a persistent nuisance abusing Steam Direct... they've dumped over a hundred valueless mobile app tier asset flips onto Steam, many featuring plagiarised/stolen stock art and other unethical, shady behaviours. The developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this particular game, with minor reskins, an insane THIRTY TWO TIMES onto Steam... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? It's a very simple level by level game. More and more you have to plan out what you're going to prioritize first, and even then it's still pretty easy. It is an older style point and click game, but it's a nice little game to beat whenever you just feel like playing something chill. My only gripe is that they have achievements in the game, but they didn't put them on steam. Wish there were achievements, as it might get more people to play.
