Build and manage a medieval town during the Renaissance as you navigate new professions, trade routes, and social hierarchies while watching your settlement flourish from feudal obscurity to mercantile prosperity. This expansion adds eight fresh professions, sprawling new regions, and deeper economic systems that transform how you develop your growing civilization.
In the 14th Century the world order is beginning to transform itself. Due to trade and commerce an increasing middle class obtains more and more power and wealth. Entire towns purchase their freedom and more privileges from the nobility. Reading and writing is no longer the domain of the nobility and the clergy and the invention of printing information may eventually be spread everywhere. This is the beginning of the renaissance...

The Guild II Renaissance is a buggy but surprisingly deep medieval life sim that combines economy management with roleplay elements like courtroom trials, and players appreciate that the developers continue to actively update it through the beta branch. ummm not sure what the hype was bout this game. buggy as shiiiiz. only 3 bucks so try it at your own risk but naah. too much bug. edit: been playing more despite the bugs. yeah its pretty fun. unfortunately so glaring dev decisions that really hurt the game. IE unable to really do much with your dynasty. you have to wait till your guy dies off first before you add more then 1 of your kids to your group. why? because if you tell a family member to leave your group they will never join your group again ever for the entire game. so that 16 year old son that you wanted to start off inside one of your businesses. well dont drop that kid once he is setup to try to setup another kid. because that first kid will never be recruitable again. the fighting is yikes. your guys will just stand there while 5 peeps are beatin on them. a ton of random things that are pretty annoying that add up to be a mountain of frustration. o yeah another one. if you setup your shops and have a complete supply chain between them. and then you turn your shops over to the control of AI. they will always seek out local markets first before going to the raw material source. even if you own the…1 found this helpful
Great fun, enjoying this way more than the Guild 3. It does a good job of combining the economy sim with roleplaying (I LOVE the trial scenes where you get to listen to the defence and prosecution and vote guilty or not guilty). 1. Switch to the latest beta branch 2. Add the Reforged (Official) mod from Steam workshop 3. Start the game with the launcher option add the mod

Secret hood classic.
A buggy game, but it has a lot of depth, even more than you'd think for a game this old, if you like Crusader Kings and Kenshi I'd say give this a go especially given that it often goes on sale for not even 3 bones. Best thing yet is that the devs are even still releasing updates and patches and even recently added a steam workshop and fixed the multiplayer in the latest beta patch which anyone who owns the game can download so for that alone I say it's worth it seeing a game this old still get love from the devs while plenty of games on Early Access here on Steam gets abandoned.
It's getting actively updated if you switch to the beta branch! HUGE
