About Emerald Shores

Emerald Shores is a challenging SNES-inspired platformer with a bunch of twists. Level up, take on rewarding sidequests, play unique minigames, unlock secret levels, raise a pet monster, fight an optional mega-leveled beast of a boss, and more!

Travel across a huge world map as you find your way to the floating island of Emerald Shores and liberate it from the invading monsters.

When you've completed the main storyline, take on Remix Mode, which rearranges each of the game's levels to be even more brutal.

Emerald Shores is a lot more challenging then i thought it would be, and you could find yourself repeating the same level over and over and over again. It has a very similar feel to the same game play Mario would give you, with the added mini games along the way. Quite an interesting concept and adds a lot of replayability. It costs about the same amount a couple drinks at a bar would cost you, and is much more satisfying then sitting in a bar with a bunch of sweaty drunk dudes. I'd definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for a similar experience, and can't wait to see what other games FordeSoft comes up with in the future.

So...Emerald Shores came out and I just had a feeling. A feeling that it was going to be good despite there being zero user reviews. It is a very tight and challenging / fair platformer. Plus: Kudos to the developer for including a strategy guide. I know I will be using it and I suggest you do the same. XD

For a couple weeks my daughter (6 years old) and I were playing this game. It was great fun with lots of variety! And, even quite accessible for young players. We completed the boot race thing, but didn't make it through all the levels before my daughter got interested in something else, though, so I didn't get to see a lot of the later levels. I'll definitely try to come back sometime! Steam seems to think we played 46 hours, but that must be a bug or maybe I accidentally left it running on the menu screen or something. We probably played closer to 5-10 hours, but I can't say for sure. In any case, I highly recommend it!!!!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on this game 10 days prior to release to be able to stream it and I must say I was impressed with how well it ran, I was a bit apprehensive due to the "SNES" relation, but it was really really good, I love the fact that it benefits you to really search through the levels to find power ups and hidden treasures that will ultimately make your life easier as you continue through the game! Looking forward to the next release from the developers!
