Its free, pretty, but has problems that makes one not want to play it more than 30 minutes. The photo mode is cool, the story's message has good meaning, the trash count is welcomed especially for collecting all the trash achievement. For the devs first offical steam game it was a amazing start. I wish they spent more time on it, cause the use of Chat GPT(Ai) is noticeable and not in a good way not to say I dont think this dev cant do better. The achievements will pop randomly without you even doing them yourself. The camera is awful and super slow, which is the main reason why I dont recommend this game. There's no volume scroller other than to turn off the music which for me was needed. Traveling through or even trying to get out of the water is a slug and bugged. it did run though on a steam deck

Its starts out with walk around and collect garbage to dump. Bag size increases as you go but why increase to 60 when the garbage counter is going down? Once you collect all the trash and get rid of it and turn the windmills and robots on, that's it. Can't even restart the game to collect garbage again. No end. No full cohesion to bring it all together. Beautiful, but worse than books with no ending that leave the reader hanging for the next 50 years of their life. I'll just mention that gliding seems more like falling lightly, if you can even get it to work. Don't try to get on high things to glide off either, there is no way. If you need completion in any way in your life, don't play.
Summary
Short free very chill adventure game exploring an island cleaning trash while uncovering its mysteries Pros + Chill + Interesting premise Cons - Buggy achievements - Need polish
Overview
The Last Shores is a short, free, and casual very chill adventure game where you explore an island's mysteries while cleaning trash that's littered around the beaches. It's unfortunate that I lean negatively since the game is really chill and looks very nice while you wander around collecting trash and take in the atmosphere. Even with all the updates there's still jank to the slow movement and the most annoying thing where trash gets hidden underground, making it almost impossible to figure out where you missed them after already circling the island missing only like 3 pieces of trash. The UI and interactions with items or inhabitants of the island could also benefit with more polish as I found at some points I could get softlocked after conversations. What annoyed me the most is no matter what I did to trigger and figure out fixes to unlock the 300 Miles of Walking and Gliding was a huge waste of time as nothing worked. If you aim to get all achievement…

I am shall just get right to it. if you are reading this please remember it's just a game and just one opinion and findings. yes, in my review I will write this in a mix of bad and good grammar/syntax a mix of read as written or read as if it's spoken. this is somewhat how I show/know if something is off when I hear it or read it I would give this a 6 out of 10 because 5 is not enough and 10's to many. (inside joke from Dapper Manatee - Thomas/Mitch) any-who 6/10 1. getting around the island is nice and easy but also slow, and feels like a purposeful choice to make the game last longer/feel longer, I think it's not a great choice to push that, for the whole game, for me it gets tedious and boring. 2. I would suggest having some more story or at least "hidden" story for those gamers that re-explore in one play though. it looks to me like there a a few plot holes. 3. some to most of the in-game conversation text needs to be re-reviewed as there are grammar and syntax errors. (English) 4. the gliding function needs some more work as I could not get it to activate most times, and when it did work the animation does not load every time. otherwise gliding was a nic…
