Fun little Zelda Clone
Oceanhorn is actually a pretty decent adventure game that feels a lot like the older Zelda titles. It's fun, looks great, sounds even better, and has plenty of cute monsters to smack with a sword. The combat is fairly simple, but that's part of the charm. This isn't the kind of game that's trying to reinvent the genre. Instead, it focuses on delivering a fun and accessible adventure. If you're looking for an action-adventure RPG-ish game with a classic feel, Oceanhorn is worth checking out. I treated it more as a casual game and played it on and off over time, but I enjoyed my journey from start to finish. Kind of basic as far as action adventure games go, feels like a Zelda clone. I recommend buying on sale if you're curious as it's a mobile game ported to PC and it shows throughout the gameplay. Negatives: travelling between islands is dragged out (maybe to allow older phones more time to load the maps?), boss fights get more boring as you progress in the game.
Awesome fantasy/sci-fi adventure game reminiscent of LoZ Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. You can tell that it was made for the smartphone, but it plays much better than you think it would for a smartphone game from its release time. Looking forward to playing the sequel out now and the 3rd game that will probably come out on PC within the next 1-2 years at the time of writing this review.
Does not respect your time, full of truly baffling design decisions.
