DON'T BUY THIS ONE, buy emergency 20 instead. no reason not to. i wasted my money on this.

This game drives me insane, you have to micromanage almost every single thing it seems. It drives me nuts that I can deploy a fire truck to a fire and unless I directly order them to get out and fight the fire, they will happily sit there and let it burn around them. (Hint: at a real life large job, you do not micromanage every tasking of every responding agency. We trust the Police/ambos to do their job and we do ours) You get one missions (nuclear plant disaster) and you can only send 6 people in to do everything - and it constantly yells you have not done everything instantly (even before your units have reached the site). Only the rescue truck carries hoses, axes, extrication tools etc.. which is one of the many frustrating mechanics of the game. If none of this bothers you, then the game is probably going to be great! if it bothers you - you will probably have a frustrating time when your firefighters sit next to a tree that's on fire until it's a third alarm fire because you were micromanaging your hazmat response to not just stand in the hot zone with a patient until they die.

Just get Emergency 20. It runs in the Emergency 5 engine and provides far more content and gameplay changes than this mess.

I can't comment on Emergency 4 or 5, because I haven't played them, but I can tell you this: if you buy Emergency 2016, you are going to have fun. Plain and simple fun. You can automate a lot of the monotone tasks to make the game easier, but if you prefer to be the king of micromanagement like me you can turn it off in the settings (although medical helicopters will still automatically head to HQ after you load them with injured person, even without your doctor in it, so watch out for that) In my 16 hours of experience I can't say much bad about it. The helicopters can make your units stuck from time to time and landing them can be challenging on some parts of the map and the "hitbox" of the helicopter on the ground is huge and takes forever to walk around so keep that in mind. The doctor sometimes completely ignores injured people if they are too close to the wrecked car - they just won't show you the button to treat them and the only way that solves this for me is towing the car away or have a firefighter drag the injured person further from the car. The car redirecting is situationally working and could use some fix to be more consistent or predictable. The cars often ignore …
