About Engine of Chaos
Ride. Die. Upgrade. Repeat.
Engine of Chaos is a top-down action roguelite where your only hope is a heavily armed train barreling through a world overrun by the dead and worse. Strap turrets, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, tesla coils, and plasma cannons to your carriages. Keep the engine fueled. Keep moving. Stop and you're dead.Build Your War Machine
Collect and attach over 20 carriage types to your train. Each one changes how you fight. Stack flak cannons for crowd control, load up on fuel carriages for long hauls, or go all-in on tesla coils and watch the lightning arc between hordes. Every run is a different loadout.Six Hostile Environments
Fight through scorching deserts, abandoned industrial zones, overgrown forests, ruined cities, alien hive colonies, and the depths of hell itself. Each biome brings new enemy types, new threats, and new ways to die.Over 40 Enemy Types
From shambling walkers to burrowing horrors, bomber bats, acid spitters, riot shield zombies, and towering bone colossi. Every environment throws something new at you. Learn their patterns or get overwhelmed.Upgrade Everything
Hit checkpoints to repair, refuel, and upgrade. Improve your hull, speed, weapons, and ram damage. Upgrade individual carriage types to make them deadlier. Spend your points wisely because the next stretch is always harder than the last.Keep Moving or Die
Run out of fuel and you stall. Stall too long and it's over. Take too much damage and the train explodes in a chain of fireballs from caboose to engine. Every run is a push to see how far you can get before the horde catches up.Features:
Short game + bug = endless tower defense
The upvote is a mix of sincere appreciation (it's a cheap nice thing, it deserves some praise!) and encouragement (because it's way too buggy and unbalanced). I played this thing for 2 hours waiting for the boss to appear, to no avail. At some point, I reached biome 102 and I called it a day out of boredom and joint pain, which is a pity because it would take so little to make Engine of Chaos a solid good game. To the guy who made this game, as a fellow developer I would humbly offer you this advice, in decreasing ROI order (some are really 1 minute of work, so please consider them): - remove the LMB trigger and set the gun to autofire: you are always firing automatic guns, not sniper rifles, so you'll keep the finger on the mouse button anyway. Spare your player the pain on the joints - move the booster from spacebar to LMB (why use mouse and keyboard for a game that you can comfortably play with mouse only???) - rebalance the engine weapons. The 40MMGL feels waaay worse than the previous gun. If balancing is hard, just keep the same weapon type, and just add two options to increase fire rate and …2 found this helpful
Fun game. reminds me of old flash games.1 found this helpful
Cute little cheap game with no vampires but lots of trains and heavy metal. Just do your best to keep the train moving forwards.
Neat little game! Gets slightly repetitive near the ending, but I enjoyed my time with it, definitely worth the asking price. For the dev; The boss enemy never showed up and most achievements currently do not seem to trigger reliably.
