About Escape from Terror City
Arcade-style 3D Run'n'Gun Action!

The mining colony of Terroir, though relatively small and isolated, is vitally important to the five interplanetary kingdoms in the sector, due to being their only source for the raw materials which fuel their space vessels. They have remained neutral in the many squabbles between the kingdoms, selling fuel to all sides. Each kingdom knows that if they were to try to take Terroir for their own, the other four kingdoms would put aside their differences to stop them.
However, in the past years, the Argus Empire has been growing in strength, and this balance has been disturbed. Argus ships darkened the skies of Terroir and began their assault. When the City Council attempted to contact the other kingdoms for reinforcements, they found that their signal was being jammed. If they can't send a distress signal, it will be months before the other kingdoms will become aware of the situation, in which time Argus will be able to take control of the city and entrench their defenses.
You volunteer to attempt to take out the Argus Jamming Base. In your path are the mechanized forces of the Argus Empire, who are swarming through the city, sweeping out any resistance. You must fight your way past them and reach that Jamming Base. The city is counting on you!

While I think the indie gaming space needs more 'gallery shooters'. So games like Wild Guns and Bot Vice. This one on the other hand just feels so dreadful to play. Couple it with annoying music and sound effects.1 found this helpful
Has some technical issues, wish it was more customizeable (gamepad controls, cursor move speed, etc) but the art and gamefeel of these arcade style games is always what's most important and the developer nailed it. Nice pulse-pounding feel whenever you shoot a boss and it flashes and freaks out. Love the train stage, wish more levels had the same cinematic feel.1 found this helpful
Escape from Terror City offers one of the best Run'N'Gun gameplays in 3D. If you liked old Contra games but were disappointed by the direction the franchise took in the PSX era, this game might be for you. It puts all the action in 3D, keeping the general bullet hell gameplay that requires you being precise and knowing what you're doing. Dear developer, you are amazing! Please do more!
Escape from Terror City captured my interest with it's name and it's "Mega Man Legends meets CGA" look but it was a big disappointment... The Good: - fairly unique look The Bad: - the controls and hit-detection aren't precise enough for a bullet-hell game like this - bottomless pits and no camera control is an awful combination - almost every enemy is a bullet-sponge which gets boring quick - no extra weapons, no weapon upgrades - almost nothing in the way of options or costumization - the game is strictly linear and barely 30 minutes long (which, in this case, is too long) - music is pretty awful The Summary: It's bad, don't buy it. 2 out of 10
A decent little arcade shooter. It reminds me a bit of Wild Guns with the the horizontal shooting mechanics, minus the special abilities, power ups, and dodging. A simple game to pick up and play with more and more challenge as you progress.
I have no idea why developers sabotage their own game. I mean this had real potential but the execution is just terrible. For one, ANYTHING above 1080P, even though it natively supports my native 4K and all resolutions in between, is unplayable because you can't see the aiming reticle. You see, the aiming reticle is not scaling with resolution correctly, it gets smaller and smaller the higher the resolution. So everything else scales correctly except for that. WHAT'S THE POINT? Secondly, the design is stupid and I stopped in the middle of level 2. In level 1, there was a health pickup after the first enemy then another after the second enemy. Except there's no point,. as ANY competent gamer will dispatch those two enemies with zero health loss, as I did. YET, further on when the game gets tougher and you actually start losing health and maybe lives, there are zero health pickups. Level 2? Health pick up immediately offered yet I finished level 1 with 1 health bar on the boss, and it starts the next level with fully refilled health! So you might say go back and get them when you need them, you can't. As you progress, previous areas are blocked off by the usual barriers. There…
