Eternal Threads is a single-player, first-person story-driven puzzle game of time manipulation, choice and consequence.
As an operative tasked with fixing corruption in the timestream, you have been sent to the North of England in May 2015, where six people died in a house fire. Prohibited from simply stopping the fire, you must instead manipulate the choices made by the housemates in the week leading up to it so that they all survive the event.
From the outset, you have free and complete reign to explore the seven day timeline before the fire. You can watch and alter the significant events from the entire week as many times as you like and in whatever order you wish. Some decisions will have only minor effects on the timeline, moving objects around the house or revealing deeper stories and secrets. Major changes however, rewrite the timeline by changing existing events, adding new events and even replacing other events entirely.
You must traverse up and down this timeline, changing decisions at different moments throughout the week so that their effects interact and combine together to save all six housemates.
However, it is not just the housemates who have choices. Each of them can be saved from the fire in multiple ways, with each outcome having a profound effect on their lives in the future. Will you just search for the quickest and easiest solution, or can you find the best possible outcome for everyone?
Ultimately, everything is about choices and consequences.
The complete narrative follows the six main characters through multiple decisions across multiple timelines and you can experience these in any way you choose.
You can concentrate on just one particular character’s storyline at a time, following their choices across the timelines and then go back to the start and follow another character.
You can approach the story like a forensic detective, observe the final outcomes of the story and then work backwards along the timeline – essentially observing the effects and then determining their cause.
Or you can just watch things in chronological order, experiencing the timeline unfold as you observe and change the decisions that the characters face as the week progresses.

Great game! Storyline is phenomenal. I enjoyed every second I played, I one shot it. Almost 12 hours but it was well worth it.1 found this helpful
It's not a bad game after all, but since i had to choose between the thumb up and the thumb down it came down on a list of pros and cons that finally weighted on the cons side. PROS: novel idea, based around some sweet sweet time travelling. It got me hooked on wanting to watch all the possibilities and i also grew somewhat close to the charachters. The fact that you see them mostly in everyday life scenarios makes the game feel like reality. This kicks in just at the beginning when you have to position relays as if it were a part of your actual job. Brilliant. CONS: it is very SLOW. It all comes down to a puzzle game with 200 unskippable scenes and very repetitive routes around the house. The time map is a nightmare to navigate and he help screens are not written for the sake of clarity. Also the ending was unclear and some choices that lead to the optimal outcome for a character also lead to the optimal ending for two more, as if me and my gf could never be happy until our common friend doesn't come to terms with her personal feelings. Finally: how is controlling their personal choises more plausible than stopping the fire in the first place? Alla in all, a very complica…
A really neat game with an origianl enough premise: 6 people died, and you have to mess with timelines to make it so that they all survived. But past the premise of time travel, it's actually a very down to earth and human sort of story, with shockingly good voice acting for the majority of the cast. It's pretty short, taking less than 10 hours to complete.
Eternal Threads is a scifi down to earth kitchen sink drama, with both walking sim and puzzle game elements. Rather a mouthful for a game that’s not exactly massive. The premise is very scifi. There’s been some sort of time travel related accident in the future which cascades radiation back through time, causing corruption in the timeline. Agents are sent back to correct this while making as few direct changes as possible. The game does not elaborate deeply on the nature of the accident really, nor the group you work for. It is at the beginning seemingly there as a framing device to set up why you are in a burnt out house using a device to manipulate past events. As the story develops the scifi aspects do come back into play in an intriguing way, which I was pleased to see, but the game does end on a cliff hanger. The devs still seem to be going, but in typical modern game development timescales, it’s 4 years later with no sequel as of yet, which is frustrating. A fascinating, somewhat-spooky game. You are a special operative, sent into the past of 2015 to change the course of tragic events and repair an anomaly. You do this by entering the ruins of a house, and replaying events of the past week, unlocking and understanding more about what happened, and what you can change, as you go. I found the concept of this game to be profoundly intriguing. Each event you can view is like a puzzle piece, and the gameplay is rearranging the puzzle pieces to find and unlock new perspectives, and see what things could have been. I'd seen it compared to games like The Roottrees Are Dead or Mind Diver, which I think are both apt comparisons. By exploring in first person, you get a real sense of understanding for the house, and a feel for the characters. I liked most of them, and I liked how their imperfect lives fit together to bring out new threads of information. I was a little spooked, to play the game, as the atmosphere is very dark and dreary, revisiting memories while there's thunder and lightning, or the ticking of the clock in the empty house. Still, I was so intrigued that I played it all in one sitting, wanting to find out how it all …
