Excavator Simulator VR

Worst 4€ I ever spent in my life and I've spent money on some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ things.

For someone's senior school project, it's pretty impressive. For a game that's not free, it's terrible. I see a lot of reviews complaining they can't get out of the seat adjustment screen where you start. It's weird but you click the back arrow on the top left of the screen. I also saw a complaint about not being able to switch between SAE and ISO controls- you can, it's on the gear icon settings menu. I've used various excavators and want to get more fluid at the controls, so I tried this. Unfortunately, at least on Oculus Rift S, there is no deadzone in the controls so all the controls are constantly wandering around a little. This is the real killer for me, you're always making micro adjustments to stop some motion (and all you can succeed in is reducing it). If you could use a gamepad, or even the sticks on the VR controllers instead of grabbing sticks in VR, this game would be good training. Honestly don't care that there's no game beyond the dig tutorial as that's all I wanted to do anyway, but the digging is so bad it's just not worth using. don't buy this crap. Doesn't work.

Planning to hire a micro digger to dig up my own garden so figured this would be a good starting point to learn basic controls. I think it does the job OK. Lack of ability to use physical joysticks lets it down, you need to be able to feel when they're centred. Also I'm not bothered by the lack of levels as a lot of reviewers are - this is literally a sandbox, don't expect too much for £3.99. I should also mention the developer appears to have completely abandoned the game as of 2021 so don't expect any updates.

I actually used this as a training tool.. I am renting a mini ex. for the weekend and wanted to gain some seat time prior. This was better than nothing, however this is getting a thumbs down for some misleading info on the store page. 1. There is no dedicated "sandbox mode". The only way to actually dig freely is through the "Dig Tutorial" 2. The store page states "operate a giant 90 tonne excavator in either ISO or SAE control patterns" however there is no option to change, you are stuck in SAE. 3. There is no sounds. 4. There should be an option to use the thumbsticks rather than grab the grips, the grips are a bit wonky because there is no return to home to stop unwanted movement. Overall for $5.00 it served its purpose, I am fluent enough with the controls to confidently operate my machine this weekend. However I would not recommend to anyone buying this expecting to have any amount of fun or entertainment.
