Played on my Meta Quest 2 @MatureContent
I love VR experiences like this, where we get to learn something about familiar machinery that most of us wouldn't otherwise know how to operate. Like the title suggests, you control a digger around different job sites and complete various jobs as perfectly and time efficiently as possible. The game itself is very simple with clearly defined instructions on what to do and where to do it. You can control the digger by either using your controllers or by "physically" moving the different gears and knobs around, which is how I preferred it. If you like me also prefer the most realistic settings possible, make sure to pick the options for realistic bucket movements that make scooping manually controlled and not automatic. In your warehouse, which serves as your free roam menu, you can select jobs from a map on the wall. Each job has an expected payout, job size and grade, if you have previously done it before. Since you work jobs for other people, you have to be careful not breaking anything unintentionally, or it comes out of your paycheck at the end of the job. As you …

I've previously had the pleasure of playing a few excavator VR games and DIG VR stands out in gameplay comfort and mechanics. DIG VR is a nicely immersive VR sim where you drive diggers around the charming town of Diglington, tackling jobs from simple construction to quirky custom requests. You grow your business by unlocking ever bigger machines, useful attachments, and many cosmetic options so your digger can look just the way you want. There are different control schemes for beginners and veterans, which helps ease in. Modes like sandbox, mini-games and the Lost Treasure content offer variety. It's fun, relaxing, with enough challenge to stay engaging. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5eNz2SASWc

DIG VR, developed by Just Add Water and published by Wired Productions, is a virtual reality construction simulator that successfully transforms the methodical act of operating heavy machinery into an engaging, accessible, and unexpectedly relaxing experience. Rather than aiming for hyper-technical realism that might intimidate newcomers, the game strikes a careful balance between authenticity and approachability. It invites players into the driver’s seat of a variety of excavators and specialized digging equipment, offering both structured career progression and open-ended creative play in the colorful town of Diglington. The core appeal of DIG VR lies in its tactile immersion. From the moment you step into the cab of an excavator, the VR controls emphasize physical interaction and spatial awareness. Players can manipulate joysticks, operate mechanical arms, scoop earth, and precisely position buckets with intuitive motion controls. The game offers both simplified and more authentic control schemes, allowing players to choose between ease of use and greater realism. This flexibility ensures that beginners can quickly grasp the fundamentals, while those seeking a more technical ch…

Works on Reverb G2. Pretty good VR work/machinery sim, that could have been much better if it was designed for PC/PS5 first. Controlling an excavator in VR is intuitive and satisfying, but the machine (and everything else for that matter) lacks a proper weight simulation. It feels more like you are levitating rather than driving several tons of metal, hitting a dirt with anything other than the edge of a dipper stops it in its tracks. If the game was not initially designed for mobile hardware, it could've simulated physics much better. The campaign has a lot of missions and surprisingly varied activities, but the digging is by far the most complex and satisfying mechanic. There are way too many cleaning tasks in later levels, for my taste, it became annoying after a while. But by that time I've already played for almost 8 hours, which is a personal record for a work sim, since I am not that much into this genre.

Fun game. Graphics are overly simple at times though.
