If you're looking for a short detective game, I suggest you to try Eye 4 Eye. It's a game where you play as detective Hazel to solve a missing daughter case. You're provided with a search engine to help you find clues & discover the truth.
GAMEPLAY
Most of the puzzles in this game require you to find the code to a terminal, so it can be a bit repetitive. However, the process of finding clues through the search engine is fun. You will learn the lore and backstory of the game along the way.
STORY
The storyline is decent, the twist are maybe a bit predictable but personally I feel the ending is a bit abrupt. The buildup of the mystery is nice, but the ending is pretty disappointing.
DIFFICULTY
The puzzles have medium difficulty. Not hard, but challenging enough to make you feel like a detective. You need to find the right keyword to search and read the information given carefully, or else you might miss some important clues. And if you ever got stuck, dont worry. The game provide you with a hint system. GRAPHIC & VOICE ACTING The game's graphic have a retro style. I have no problem with it, but I think the graphic might not be for everyo…

So the bad here is the story, and the good is the gameplay. The story was really cliche; I clocked the "twist" at like 10 minutes in because it was so obvious, and the story was a really typical "what if tech went HORRIBLY WRONG" kind of thing. And while I appreciate stories about how tech bros are evil, this really didn't bring anything new to the table. It was...fine, just boring. I think if you weren't used to this type of story it might feel a little more thrilling, but like I said it was all telegraphed waaay out. It made it impossible to get invested at all. But the gameplay here was great! I really enjoyed the puzzle design and the exploration; I wasn't a fan of the look but that's really a matter of my personal taste. The puzzles were a blast and I enjoyed the experience. Also I don't know what my deal is but I love search string puzzles, lol. But honestly the puzzle design here was better than many of the like, $15 retail games I play. And honestly, the story worked perfectly fine as a way to send you in the right direction to find the next puzzles. I think if the dev can nab a real writer they could do something pretty cool. And really, it's freeware! If it appeals to …

Fantastic game, though I was annoyed by some puzzle solutions being locked behind progression. I got stuck in one section because I had previously searched the solution and got zero results, so I assumed that was all there was to that search term because I hadn't hit a progression wall yet. So I finally use a hint, thinking I missed something, only to be told to search the term I'd already searched. Suddenly, there's a new result when I search the term. I get that some gate-keeping and scaffolding is required when designing games like this, but I shouldn't have to be forced to take a hint to unlock a new search result (because it was literally I searched it, found nothing, used a hint, and suddenly got a new result). Complaints aside, it's a game worth checking out.
