It may be in early access, but i swear this is already more polished than a lot of fully released games. Definately give this a try!2 found this helpful
I can't recommend this game at this state. Too many game breaking glitches. It has a lot of potential. Sadly, the glitches come after more than 2 hours of playing. Now, it won't even run anymore. I will update this review in the future as this is still an early access game.
As a longtime Dark Souls and Elden Ring player, Fallen Tear: The Ascension instantly clicked with me. It delivers that same rewarding feeling of exploring every corner of the world, mastering challenging encounters, and constantly discovering something new. The hand-drawn art is stunning, the soundtrack is incredible, and the combat feels smooth and satisfying. If you're a fan of games that reward exploration and skill, do yourself a favor and give this one a try—you won't regret it.
I played for 2 hours+ into Fallen Tear: The Ascension and I am already really impressed. For a Metroidvania game the production quality here is amazing. Here is what stands out to me on: Stunning Hand-Drawn Art: The traditional animation is beautiful. The colorful worlds look like a fantasy anime and Hira moves really smoothly. Crisp Responsive Controls: The movement and combat feel very precise from the start. The platforming is great the hitboxes are accurate. The combat feels really good. A Fresh Twist on Progression: The game mixes JRPG elements like recruiting special allies that give you new abilities, with traditional Metroidvania exploration. This feels really fresh. Even choosing which movement skill to unlock first is a choice. In its early stages Fallen Tear: The Ascension feels really polished, engaging and full of heart. If you love games like Hollow Knight or Ori and the Will of the Wisps but want something with a twist this is totally worth checking out. Hats off to Winter Crew Studios, for making Fallen Tear: The Ascension.
This is a visually stunning Metroidvania that blends fast-paced combat, rewarding exploration, and a heartfelt story into a memorable adventure. Its hand-drawn art style, smooth gameplay, and RPG-inspired progression make exploring its interconnected world both exciting and satisfying. While a few rough edges remain, the game's creativity, charming characters, and ambitious design make it an easy recommendation for fans of the genre.
It is a really fun platformer game.. I also find the dodge and parry mechanic really interesting. Can't wait to unlock more skills and abilities as I progress through the game,
