Astalon: Tears of the Earth is an action-platformer where three heroes with distinct abilities fight through an mysterious tower filled with monsters, puzzles, and secrets, using a death-reincarnation mechanic to grow stronger and uncover the key to saving their village. Beautiful 8-bit pixel art, character customization through artifacts and upgrades, and hundreds of interconnected rooms combine classic exploration with fast-paced combat that rewards both careful planning and bold aggression.
Story
Three heroic explorers wander the post-apocalyptic desert on a mission to save their village from despair. They soon find a dark, twisted tower that has risen from the depths of the planet and seemingly holds the key to their survival. In order to ensure their victory, one of them has made a secret pact with the Titan of Death, Epimetheus, allowing them to reincarnate until they have accomplished their mission. But what fate lies in store for the heroes and their village?

Astalon: Tears Of The Earth is an action-platformer set in a dying world where life is cruel, but death can be a stepping stone to victory! Use the unique skills and weapons of Arias the fighter, Kyuli the rogue, and Algus the wizard, to surmount the mysterious tower and find the answers to their survival. Slay terrible monsters, discover powerful artifacts, and solve fiendish puzzles, reaching new heights in the tower with the aid of a Titan. Follow a story about friendship and sacrifice, building up the courage to take down giants to protect the weak and powerless. Strengthen your party and change their fate by embracing death. Discover the countless secrets of the Tower of Serpents!

O jogo é um metroidvania com um mapa enorme, mas sem nenhum meio de locomoção eficiente. Ele oferece elevadores e alguns teleportes, mas isso só ajuda em regiões específicas: na maior parte do tempo, você precisa ficar revisitando diversas salas cheias de inimigos, e toda vez que entra em uma sala, o spawn dos inimigos reseta. Como as salas são cheias de inimigos, é muito fácil levar dano à toa e acabar morrendo antes de conseguir explorar tudo. E quando você morre, volta ao início do mapa em vez de voltar para as fogueiras espalhadas pelo jogo. Dá para controlar 3 personagens no jogo, mas apenas um por vez, e só é possível trocar de personagem nas fogueiras. Há muitas salas que abusam do backtracking, teve uma em que precisei refazer o caminho três vezes, trocando de personagem, até conseguir acionar tudo. O visual do mapa é simples e vai desbloqueando novos ícones de reconhecimento conforme você compra upgrades. Mas o real problema é que a área amarela tem uma paleta de cor tão saturada que não consigo distinguir onde ficam as salas fechadas e onde há caminho aberto para outras áreas. Foi uma tortura jogar isso. Apesar de o jogo ser eficiente no que se propõe, o game design …1 found this helpful
alright guys, the game is GREAT, but for the love of GOD fix your steam cloud save formatting. 0.dat & MySave.dat are both improperly formatted for deck to PC sync if the user access windows on a local desktop, and that's just sloppy code
Nice little game. Never played episode 1 (where ever that is). It's good but nothing memorable. I don't recommend getting all achievements because it is grindy as hell and so not worth it.
Very solid metroidvania with good progression and level design. Lots of skills to unlock and exploring the vast tower was always fun. Can recommend to buy
I HIGHLY recommend this game. The story is simple, the controls are tight, and the characters are incredibly fun to play with and level up. I also love some of the conversations they have around the campfire.
Absolutely solid metroidvania! Great soundtrack, not too difficult, and great visuals.
