  • Gameplay – It’s HARDCORE! Don’t worry; the gameplay will be the familiar, classic RPG style that fans of the original love, but with an optional Hardcore mode. For the super-est of fans. **Insert sick guitar riff**
  • Procedurally generated levels – Adventure through endless caverns, dungeons, mines, tunnels, temples, forests, and snowy wastelands. Read as “Endless FUN,” am I right?
  • Economy – Of course, you can still buy, sell and gamble your fat loots!
  • Classic – It’s the classic sequel to a classic game. Why haven’t you played it yet?

A solid follow-up to the first FATE (you can even carry over your original character!). There’s a good amount of new content, with extra realms, monsters, quests, weapons, and arenas, and the story continues in new areas like Druantia and Typhon, each with their own hubs and quests. It keeps that same familiar, enjoyable gameplay while giving you more to explore, plus it adds a hardcore (permadeath) mode, a few new quest types, and more pet transformations. That said, it doesn’t really try to change things up much, so it mostly just feels like more of the same—for better or worse.

Great game, I remember playing it many times during my childhood. Just farming gear and levels.. Its highly recommended to use Borderless Gaming to adjust the game screen. Since the vanilla full screen ruins the resolution of your monitor a lot (due to being limited to 1080p = old game). Do not edit the config files, it can cause bugs/errors when accepting quests.

Do not buy this game. There are many balancing issues with it's grind that are rectified in the sequel. I played this through on legendary diff and here are some of the things I noticed. 1. The level scaling for the monsters when moving between floors is ridiculously high compared to the OG make things a real slog to get through. 2. The loot DOES NOT scale with the monsters level, so you will be fighting lvl 100 creatures that drop basic clubs and axes in floor 10. And if you know this game you NEED money, and in this game you NEED better gear to get over point #1. 3. Having the 2 towns sucks since you have to walk between them, and the main hub, in order to access either of the dungeons. Not that big of a deal until you realize that... 4. Only the second town has the 2 MOST important utilities in the game in it, storage and the enchanter. 5. The most effective way to grind is to do each dungeon in tandem so as to not overwhelm yourself with the BS level scaling. All of these things are better rectified in Traitor Soul. Things were scaled back to be more similar to the OG in that game. At least for the first 3 dungeons anyways. I'm not going to go into the specifics of how Trait…
