About Fealty

THE GAME
A 4X experience playable in about an hour or two! Fealty is a tactical, turn-based strategy game that you enjoy on your own or with friends as you embark on an epic struggle to claim the empty throne. Claim the crown by developing your lands, increasing your strength, and making your rivals bend the knee! Engage in tactical, thoughtful strategy to conquer enemy territory. Force your foes to fight for your banner and aide you in claiming your rightful place on the throne.

MY LIEGE! THE KING IS DEAD...
Without an heir, the Nobles have declared a war for the throne. You've no choice but to fight. As one of the six Nobles, your claim to the throne is as strong, if not more so, than that of the others. To claim the throne, you must gather their sigils under your banner. Each Noble must join you, or perish. It is the only path to peace.
The fate of the realm is at stake.
Claim the throne... or bend the knee!

Hey, this game is great! It strips down the concept of a 4X game to its most basic components and keeps it simple. The entire game is pretty much based around the combat you'd recognize in Civilization when you've started a war but your cities are producing new units while you're pretty far away from your opponent and you have to figure out the most efficient way of getting these units in formation to do well at the front line. I think that sentence made sense. Try to control as many spaces as possible, build farms to increase your maximum soldier count, and get your armies where they need to go to conquer even more land. Combat is a war of attrition instead of stats. There are only two units, knights and wizards, and the soldiers will whittle away at each other in combat while the wizard can cast spells that can change the tide of the battle. It's really really simple but extremely engaging. I don't know why this game isn't more known but I'm gonna try to tell a lot of people about it.3 found this helpful
(I was lucky to win this copy in a key giveaway on Boulean’s stream) Game plays very nicely, and its turns revolve around clean mechanics. Mage spells are SCARY and can turn every battle in matter of single move. Game itself is very solid, but I would love to see some mechanic that makes winning/losing faster in late game (since you have to basically slowly bleed out your enemy).2 found this helpful

Such a cool game and the fact that it was made by a solo dev is mind blowing to me. I've always been a fan of the Civ games and if you like those games you'll like this. It's a distilled version of Civ with a heavy focus on combat. I got destroyed on my first attempt, but had a blast just the same!
Works great on Steam Deck without any tinkering (some of the text a little small but not a deal breaker). Decent game, deserves more attention. Very stripped back warlike 4x(ish) where you have to balance doomstacks against penetrating and taking enemy resources, with glass cannon mages thrown in to offer some chaos. Could do with some QOL tweaks, it's not very obvious whether other players have bent the knee to you for example and building mage towers isn't really explained until you're able to do it, but overall great value for a quick battle on a small island.
Worth 10x what I paid for it at NZ$1.84 (about $1 US) this game is a great little strategy gem. Planning and strategy , with a degree of simplicity, really worth a go.
