Feast of Fools

It's a fun brief puzzle tactics game. Each of the 3 characters you control have a different strength and ability they can utilize. I'm not sure how on earth it's almost 2GB in size though, very basic graphics and only has 3 rooms to get through.

Kept getting wiped out, even when skipping enemies in the first two rooms. Thumbs down.

Feast of Fools is a really interesting little turn based horror game because it takes the idea of escaping a haunted house and turns it into something much more tactical. I am invited to a mysterious dinner party, only to find out that I am actually part of the meal. From there I have to get through the manor while avoiding endless waves of monsters and trying to keep the other guests alive. I like how quickly the game gets into the action because there is not much unnecessary stuff between me and the actual challenge. The biggest strength for me is the way the three characters work together. The Professor can pull allies away from danger, the Lady can push allies forward and the Priest can heal other characters. That sounds simple at first, but it makes every turn matter because I am constantly thinking about where everyone needs to be. The Priest is especially interesting because he cannot heal himself, so I have to be careful about leaving him exposed. Very cool puzzle, though very short. Could be cool with community levels but there should also be more base game content, it felt all I beat was a tutorial. As a free game though, it's great.

[h1] A Priest, A Scholar, And a Maiden walk into a Mansion...[/h1] This is a perfect little time wasting brain teaser. You're moving a priest, a young lady and a scholar through a mansion's 3 rooms, avoiding monsters and the "hospitality" of a very dapper and deadly host that insists on having you stay for dinner. Each of the the guests have unique attacks and interactions with monsters and other characters. Depending on your stubbornness, you want to try to clear the mansion and escape with all the characters if possible but your characters can easily die at any time if you're not careful. I managed to clear it in 80 mins after several losses so it's a pretty short game but its free, fun, has personality, & polish. The only thing I look at with the side eye is the fact the game is 2 GB and gives you an email signup prompt. Just feels weird a game this small is that big and asking for signups (though it is optional). I kinda want this to be a full game.
