About Fiendish Freddy's Big Top O' Fun
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, welcome to the show. You're in for quite a treat with Fiendish Freddy's Big Top O' Fun. We have not one, not two, but six, count 'em six, zany games of circus excitement. Yes, friends, a real sports-o-rama. Soon you'll be the talk of your neighbourhood as you compete in the death-defying events in this circus extravaganza. And a word to the wise - watch out for the rascal of a saboteur, that do-er of dastardly deeds, that vindictive victim of the rare form of dementia known as circusus interruptus - the one, the only, Fiendish Freddy.
Compete alone or with Friends in 6 circus-themed minigames. Each with it's own unique challenges and twists. Can you outsmart Fiendish Freddy and get your score high enough to impress our panel of crazy judges? Can you earn enough money to save the circus?
Six events taken straight from the circus:
Hotseat multiplayer for up to 5 players
Compete alone or with Friends in 6 circus-themed minigames. Each with it's own unique challenges and twists. Can you outsmart Fiendish Freddy and get your score high enough to impress our panel of crazy judges? Can you earn enough money to save the circus?
Six events taken straight from the circus:
- High Dive - Plummet towards the pool below. Make sure to hit the water and hit a pose
- Juggling - Keep the objects in the air in this explosive game of Hot-Potato
- Flying Trapeze - Perform death-defying feats of acrobatics. Look out for the ground below.
- Knife Throwing - Take aim and pop as many balloons as you can. Try not to miss.
- Tightrope Walker - Don't loose your never or your balance as you make your way to safety.
- Cannoneer - Position your safety net and load your cannon. Don't forget your helmet.

Here I am scrolling through new Steam releases and... There's that clown. That clown who, in an odd little way, represents one of the milestones of my gaming childhood. You see, kids... Circa 1990, good old Commodore had decided to relaunch the C64 to appeal to the console market. And since it seemed console users essentially wanted a computer with less features, they took the venerable 8-bit and shaved off the keyboard, removing all ability to program on it, load software from tape and disk, etc. Surprisingly, the Commodore 64 Games System was a huge flop. So the following year, Commodore had a lot of weird keyboardless C64s they couldn't give away. They also had a lot of copies of the cartridge that was intended to be bundled with the C64GS... Which included an odd little circus game called Fiendish Freddy's Big Top o' Fun. Fortunately - despite Commodore's best efforts - demand for the C64 as a home computer was still there, so they were able to get rid of the excess cartridges in a new C64 bundle called the Playful Intelligence Pack.
