✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the interesting film studio-centered story and improved graphics, along with the helpful map and teleportation system that keeps engagement high. However, common frustrations include imprecise click detection, the mechanics of needing to complete sections before accessing adjacent areas, the non-traditional hidden object scenes, and a general feeling that bonus chapters feel tacked-on and diminish the satisfaction of completing the main game. Most recommend waiting for a sale rather than paying full price.

Been playing a lot of HOGs (Seeky-Findy’s) since 2018. It’s a nice change-up and keeps the non-playing spouse engaged. Honestly – I haven’t played a HOG yet that is worth the full price. Advise whenever possible wish list and buy during a sale. STORY: Interesting – centered on film studio shenanigans. Some jump scares and a death by fire scene that may trigger trauma. GRAPHICS: Nice, a step up from years gone by TRAVEL: Includes map that lists things to do or objectives to accomplish. Allows teleportation. MECHANICS: A bit frustrating that you have to complete a section in order to open up an area you’ve just visited to find the item. Also, it is a bit wonky and tetchy trying to click in the right spot. This can be frustrating. HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES are not classic conventional a mix of require you to interact with various objects to obtain others, riddles, jump scare raccoons (seriously!). MINI GAMES are at time simple and other challenging. Not the classic ones that you will see when you start playing these regularly like “it’s the spinning circles, or the pipes, or the create a potion”. Many don’t reset so be careful. The mini-game can be skipped though. BONUS FEATURES…

Not a bad game though the first two were far better. Also, I'm not a big fan of bonus chapters. I find myself skipping puzzles if they take too long rather than trying to take the time to complete them. I think it has to do with feeling like you've beat the game only to have the developers snatch that satisfaction away with a tacked on story played from a different character's point of view. They think they are rewarding us by giving us more game, but I always feel like if you want this to be part of the story, why not include it in the regular game? It's very hard to keep interest in a bonus chapter. Something thrown together and cheap about them.
