Finger Fortress is an abandoned Early Access (no updates in well over 6 months and no clear sign or plan for the game to be finished) free to play 2D MS-Paint style soldier defense game with a difference, you have to type words quickly to create your troops instead of just clicking, because that's more fun, not. It was slapped together with Unity and has locked resolution and only 2D graphics, so the quality is below acceptable standards for a modern PC game (in fact without the typing aspect I would have sworn this was a mobile app). While this is free, it's abandoned, and also not all that much fun. The art style seems to have been unabashedly ripped off Kingdom Rush, and if you are looking for a fun soldier/tower defense game, I recommend that over this unfinished effort.1 found this helpful
Got to play this game once, then it stopped working, seemed fun. Then... after it kept timing out I ran a packet trace on my firewall to figure out what IP or Port might be causing the issue, only to find out that... 39.106.163.1 on TCP port 3571 was being blocked. Further research revealed that the whole 39.106.163.0/24 subnet is owned by a Chinese company, "Hangzhou Alibaba Advertising Co. Ltd.". As much as I'd like to play this game, why does some advertising company in China over some random port need to receive a connection from my pc to play the game... uninstalling for now, hopefully they remove this suspicious behaviour so I can reinstall.
Before I played Finger Fortress, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
The game at its core is fun and enjoyable. However, playing online is NOT an option at all. Ranked queues take forever (whether this is a lack of players or global funcitonality I do not know, but it is impossible to find a game). Also crashes everytime I play with a friend. Better offline.
